I'm curious if anyone has read any Mythopoeic award winning or nominated books and what you thought of them?
If you're not familiar, they are awarded by the Mythopoeic Society to fiction and non-fiction that "exemplify the spirit of the Inklings". (and we all know who was an Inkling, hence why I am posting here)
I have feelings/opinions on book awards, which I won't get into, but the Mythopoeic are interesting to me because I find I often quite like their nominated books and they very much have a different feel from a lot of other fantasy, so I like to pay attention to them.
Here is a list of the 2025 awards and nominees, if you're interested: https://www.mythsoc.org/awards/awards-2025.htm

Mythopoeic Awards
Lailyn: Ah that is wonderful for you. Enjoy them.
But no, I have heard somewhere of it, but cannot pinpoint it. What I have noticed is that the outside covers of fantasy books are quite poorly imaging these days. In the past they had really detailed covers that gave a visual insight of the characters and the landscape by the vibrance of colour. But that all has disappeared for dull images.
