There is no such thing as too many chilis Aik! I happen to be a huge fan of all things unrepentantly spicy.

Lie Guss: I hope it's number 1 because otherwise my heart would break

1) I'm averaging more than 10,000 steps a day walking Laurence despite having plantar fasciitis
2) There hasn't been any rain in El Paso for the last month
3) I prefer cheddar popcorn to caramel

Happened to be the clothes. I must be extremely careful around peppers with me stomach and bowels. I think I can hear a breaking heart. :googly:

Lie guess: Nr. 3? Either combination sounds distasteful.

1. The nights are getting longer than the days rapidly.
2. My home is not cosy anymore.
3. I have just found the perfect job.

Incorrect! I, in fact, love both cheddar and caramel popcorn equally (espresso popcorn is also quite tasty); in fact it did rain in El Paso a few weeks ago, the first rain we've had all year

Lie Guess: 2 I'm hoping though given the circumstances I can understand

1) My perfect job is a museum archivist
2) My perfect job is a forest ranger/fire spotter
3) My perfect job is a rare book dealer

You are correct, Aik, as interesting a job as it could be, I don't think I'd be very good at it.

Lie Guess: 3, I know what it feels like to be late for everything

1) I've injured my ankle in a new way I don't quite understand
2) Before this I was averaging 13k steps a day
3) I still have more steps in my team competition than any two of my other teammates

Nr. 1 was my lie this time. I had a good dinner with my green beans among.

Lie guess: Nr.3? Hard one, they seem all convincing true.

1. I don't dwell about the outcome of competitions.
2. I am a pessimist who wails about the wrongs done to me.
3. I say, pluck the day! Enjoy! Share the pleasure.

Believe it nor not, number 2 was the lie, I was only averaging around 11k steps a day

Lie Guess: 3, no reason or explanation, just my guess this time around

1) I think people should appreciate volleyball more than they do
2) I'm not good at receiving compliments
3) I enjoy frozen fruit

Lie guess: Nr. 1?

1. I am back in playing one elf at least.
2. I am using this icon :rage: often.
3. I stepped into a ghostly world, where no escape is from.

Mwahaha! Technically all of these were true to some extent :rainbowevil:

Lie Guess: I'm guessing 2, pretty sure 1 in Fangorn and the ghost is here in Mordor

1) I received a bagful of pomegranates at work and I have no idea how to use them
2) The longest I've ever driven is 16 hours
3) It's nearly time for my yearly "apply to a job in the Antarctic"

Lie guess: Nr. 3. You like Texas.

1. I am waiting on a book of Tolkien about the Finnesburg document.
2. I am waiting on a postorder of bodycream boxes.
3. I am waiting for a Wardruna over the post.

 Oh Aik! I hate Texas. I love the region of the borderlands, but I vehemently hate the state of Texas. The lie, in fact, was number 2. The longest I have driven is 26 hours.

Lie Guess: I'm guessing 2, I know you mentioned waiting on a Tolkien related book somewhere and you've mentioned being a fan of Wardruna (you should look at some of his earlier black metal work)

1) I advocate for more languages being taught here on the borderlands as part of the basic curriculum
2) I am not very good with the biological sciences, otherwise I would have ended up as an ursinologist
3) I am searching for a frontera equivalent of Wardruna

Lie guess: Nr. 1.

1. I have not seen the walkthrough game on Gollem.
2. I have not seen the movie Sabrina.
3. I have not seen the play on Les Miserables.

Not quite, in fact whenever I talk with educators or retired educators in the area I always end up talking about how much we need better language programs on the border. Number 3, in fact, was the lie.

Lie Guess: I'm going to guess 2, though I have no basis for that guess whatsoever

1) I'm starting to believe there are too many audio dramas
2) I have a list of nearly 2000 podcasts (including audio dramas)
3) I know people who were extras on the set of Vikings

Frost: Oh those must be interesting discussions, I think. It was Nr. 3, I have never been to theatre plays before. The other's are true.

Lie guess: Nr. 1? I know of that 2000 list and the other could be possible.

1. I spent yesterday digging historical facts.
2. I had a good enchiladas dinner.
3. I don't like plays in ballet form.

Mwahaha! The lie was in the number, I do have a growing list of about 1500 or so podcasts, but it's not up to 2000 yet (thankfully). I do think there are starting to be too many audio dramas, which is not a good or a bad thing really, just a thing.

Lie Guess: I bet you're a huge ballet fan, the biggest on the Plaza

1) I prefer coffee to tea
2) No one at work knows my birthday
3) NMSU plays UTEP today and I'm not looking forward to the traffic it's going to bring

Lie Guess: I'm quite certain during the course of your life you've watched at least one series on each of these, but recently, I'm going to guess option 3

1) I prefer oat milk to regular milk
2) I enjoy charcoal lattes
3) I share bananas with Laurence

1. I think the planet is better of without our kind.
2. I am a bigtime anti-vegetarian.
3. I believe the planetary climate is largely influenced by the natural forces within our solar system.

Incorrect! I'm lactose intolerant so those fake milks actually help me out, I have, in fact, never even had a charcoal latte

Lie Guess: I'm gonna go with 3?

1) I have a favorite kind of owl
2) I have eaten cactus several times
3) My partner's family used to have goats

Sorry to hear you have an intolerance for lactose. I know how it is to keep in check what you eat and drink. Soya is a no-go for me. Also incorrect, I don't see humans as threat to the planet, even we :fence: as much.

Lie guess: Difficult one, Nr. 2? I think your family did have goats and that you have a favourite owl, since you have to take Laurence on his walks in all types of weather and with that see the nightsky.

1. I have a dinner consisting meatballs, potatoes and white cabbage, and a sauce with it.
2. I see an RP where I can respond to.

Womp, I don't have a favorite owl actually, there aren't many in the urban area I live in (in fact there haven't many nocturnal animals recently)

Lie Guess: 2, though that might not have been true when you wrote it

1) People treat my colorblindness as a novelty
2) I have not seen snow in more than 4 years
3) My boss told me I should try to become a beer sommelier

Lie guess: Nr. 2.

1. I saw a new joboffer as a scribe at the courthouse to react on.
2. I love to drink beer.
3. I made a meatdish this evening.

Lie Guess: 2? Can't recall you saying anything for or against beer in the past

Incorrect ma'am, in fact the lie is that I enjoy staying up late at night. I abhor waking up early even though I do it and thusly people mistake me for a morning person

Lie Guess: 2? There's something sinister about morning people and I don't find you sinister

1) El Paso had some rain today
2) I'm going to be making Mexican chocolate cake pops tomorrow
3) I told a coworker her house was taken over by murderous cactus worshipping cultists

In fact I love the mornings when most sleep out. Window open and nature waking up... Sun creeping over the houses... Freshness of the nightdamp. Inspirational for a tale. In my curiosity, what find you sinister in morning people?

Lie guess: Nr. 3. I don't think you would tell a coworker that, but it is funny.

1. Yawn too tired to get up but I must.
2. The neighbours fled their home for daily work.
3. Time to eat my leftovers from my dinner as breakfast.

Also, incorrect. I did tell my coworker her house had been lived in by cactus-worshipping cultists

Lie Guess: 3, because... I don't know

1) I have not cleaned my water heater today
2) I have not done a load of laundry today
3) I have not washed a load of dishes today

1) My participation in NaNo this year will be live in a thread in Mordor this year
2) I hid a Halloween decoration in my boss' office today and she only knows I did it but not where
3) I'm going to be driving 10+ hours tomorrow and I'm not looking forward to it

1. It is all silent today, no phonecalls and no visitors.
2. Got my sister on the phone.

Nope, I'm actually going to try for NaNo this year by writing "When Shall the Wheel Come 'Round Again?" in the Rhun thread

Lie Guess: One and Two seem contradictory so it has to be one of them, I'll guess 2

1) Laird Barron announced a new short story collection today and I'm quite excited for it
2) There's an anthology called "Hot Iron and Cold Blood" that I really want to buy
3) I'm shopping around for some books on indigenous folklore on cactus and/or mesquite

Lie guess: Nr. 1. That was in 2022, not 2023. I know that this anthology is on the market.

1. Even it is still summer time, my clocks are on European wintertime (ends this weekend).
2. I am not a Halloween fan.

I'm glad to hear you were able to talk to your sister. The lie this time is number 3, Laird Barron just yesterday announced a new collection, his first since 2016 and shared the cover and table of contents, I am not actively searching for a book on cactus or mesquite folklore

Lie Guess: I'll go with 3 because it feels the most out of place

1) I fractured my elbow playing basketball in school
2) I was not popular or well liked in high school
3) I was the salutatorian of my graduating class

Right, Frost alias Known as Sea. Like all the years before it will be a battlefield. A what? Salutatorian? Never heard of such university title honour, had to google it.

Lie guess: Nr. 1. I think it is quite unikely that it happened.

1. Discussions with Chrys inspired to write a piece of about five Vikings on how they pull a joke for the future scientists.
2. I had today bami and hamburgers as dinner.
3. I read online two newspapers today to catch up with the worldnews.

I too am not much of a fan of fireworks, they're loud, obnoxious, and expensive, However, you are incorrect. I broke my elbow playing basketball. I went up for a basket then landed with my full bodyweight on my right elbow, hurt like the dickens.

Lie Guess: 3, I'm guessing you read more than two and I hope you're inspired to do more writing!

1) I'm considering deleting my Twitter account
2) I gave Laurence a bath tonight and he's angry at me
3) I've had several cups of coffee today because I don't want drink tap water

Aww sorry that is ever happened to you. :smooch: It was three, for the reason I hadn't time to read the news at all, bogged down in this Critics article to summarise what it was about.

Lie guess: Nr. 3. I don't think you drank coffee for that reason, but also something else than tap water.

1. Reading scholars in not my cup of tea.
2. I fell once from the stairs and broke my left ankle.
3. I know the works of the scholar Derrida, but never read his works.

Three wasn't a lie actually, aside from coffee all I had in the house at the time was tap water and I'm not really a fan of El Paso tap water

Lie Guess: 3, I've read Derrida and found him rather boring and obfuscating

1) I bought three dungeon synth cassette tapes yesterday
2) I helped my team win the department 1,000,000 steps competition yesterday
3) I have to attend three separate parties this week at work

Frost: It was Nr. 2. :bounce: I did fell from the stairs, but did hurt my ankle instead, it was not broken. Derrida I know, because my sister was very much in his ideas and liked them very much, hence she held lectures about it to me and I only could nod really. Nice to have a younger sister and hear stuff that is not particular interesting.

Lie guess: Nr. 3. I don't think there are so many parties at work all at once.

1. My parody of the Vikings is almost finished.
2. I finished the Gawain and Green Knight essay this evening.
3. I am waiting on someone to post.

My apologies for my lateness, ironically it does have something to do with my lie. I did have three parties in the span of a week and I hated every single minute of them. I only wish that had been a lie (it is not a lie to say I loudly proclaimed I never wanted to do something like this again).

Lie Guess: 1, you're an incredibly fast writer but I don't think even you could have written a complete story that quickly.

1) My NaNo has stalled with how tired work, hopefully I can catch up a bit this weekend.
2) My pup destroyed a harness yesterday
3) I managed to loan out two of my horror novels to some of the students in my department this week.

I understand, no apology necessary. We all have our reasons to be offline. Indeed you proclaimed. I am a pretty fast writer, but it is only a short story, less than 10.000 words. It is finished now.

Lie guess: Nr. 1. I think you have done some writing during the week, even it was a litte bit.

1. My back hurts seriously and I have fysio this week.
2. I am in doubt what to post for this egg contest in the Cottage.

Many congrats! 10k words is not a small feat, you should be proud. Unfortunately, until this morning I've had no energy or time to write. I'll just have to make up as I go. I only loaned out one of my horror novels to OLLI members this week.

Lie Guess: I'll guess 3 (and hope your back feels better soon)

1) The light in my kitchen is out so I cooked beans in mostly darkness.
2) I have plantar fasciitis in my left heel and it's been hurting this week.
3) I bought some more chamomile tea this afternoon after being out of it for nearly three weeks.

Aww hehe, if you like to read a Viking parody, it is posted in my Little Corner in the Gondolin forum. But if you don't want or haven't time, no big deal to me. . Ah... I was doubtful about those horror novels. I got those fruitflies still around... :headshake: Annoying as it is. Yeah I hope so too for my back. :flail: The lie was number 2.

Lie guess: Nr. 1. I don't think the light was broken. You would have replaced it, if true or gotten a portable lamp to see better, while cooking for safety reasons.

1. I got better grips on Norse mythology than the Christian mythology. :googly:
2. I can hold theological discussions and keep it respectable.
3. Tolkien's allegories upon towers are pretty criptic for me.

I shall give it a read Aik! I found a centipede in my home last week so I can empathize with your annoyance. Sadly, the light is broken and it is one that the apartment complex must fix because it's a florescent bulb rather than a normal one. I still have a decent stock of tea.

Lie Guess: 3, as the other two seem plausible enough to be true

1) My phone service often thinks I am in Mexico because of the location of my office
2) My pup is behaving this morning
3) I forgot today was daylight savings

Centipede, wow. Creepy. It was actually two, I have difficulties with indepth theological discussions. True I can keep it friendly, but I don't the knowledge of the Old and New Testament books, as well the Bible. I never read them. I am reading now Finn and Hengest, but I am kind of blown away how throrough Tolkien's research was about the Finnesburg Fragment and the Finnesburg Episode in Beowulf. There are facts in related to Holland I never read anywhere else. I still have 110 pages to read. Some of his sources are even Finnish or Latin. Anyhow... Tolkien's allegories are not so easy to grasp. I can see how you found the first two plausible.

Lie guess: Nr. 2. Daylight saving we had last weekend in Europe, that the clock went to wintertime.

1. I have all three albums of the Runaljod series from Wardruna.
2. I have done some shopping, an hour before the shops close on Sunday which is 6pm.
3. I have a book about the Invasion of Penn and Venables.
Just call me Aiks or Aikári. Notify is off.

The amount of research that goes into the creation of a piece of fiction, whether it's the conventional research of worldbuilding or careful analysis of very specific documents, is always fascinating to me. Similarly, there is a book I'd like to own that details all the books in H.P. Lovecraft's library and how they each affected his thought process and his writing style. But enough of that! You are indeed correct as Laurence misbehaving quite a bit that day.

Lie Guess: 2, I too am a huge Wardruna fan and no collection is complete with just one of the albums.

1) I've experienced back pain bad enough this week that I've missed time at work
2) I have a goal of hiking in a state park in every part of the US
3) I'm going to go to the theater this weekend to watch an A24 film

Frost: Indeed, I agree with that. It was Nr. 1, I miss still one music album. I like them too. I had to google what a A24 movie was. It is the company that makes them.

Lie guess: 2. That is a goal very ambitious.

1. I had today a click with the job consultant I spoke who can help me to find the right job.
2. I plan on reading a new essay of Tolkien.
3. I plan on watching watching a movie tonight.

Frost (if I may follow Aiks): your guess back on Oct. 7 or 8 was correct (things slowly changed after).

Lie guess: 1. Last time I went with one kind of intuition, and got it wrong, so I'm going with a different one.

1. About 7 years ago, walking on the hill opposite my house, i looked round to find two puppies following me. It turned out they had been left by Azat, the Bedouin who guards the cows. But I thought 'if there are puppies there is a fierce mother near' and, being scared of dogs started running.
2. The puppies followed me. I turned and cried to them 'Return!' 'Go away!' and they wagged their tails and waited for me to carry on (a fast walk by now). They followed me all the way home and the next day I went and found Azat and, well, today they are named Digby and Drew.
3. In writing this lie guess I had absolutely no intention of buttering up Frost with puppy dog eyes. None. Asbolutely not.

Aik, sadly I was not going to see an A24 film that weekend, or any weekend for a while.

Lie Guess: 3, buttering up a Balrog is not a good idea

1) In creating entries for the Bearchives, I have had to use more social skills than I would have thought, having to reach out to podcasters who are no longer releasing episodes and/or have removed their podcast from the internets entirely
2) It is my opinion that there are entirely too many history podcasts focusing on Rome and the Roman Empire
3) History podcasts and historiographic podcasts are different and deserve different categorizations therein

Frost: Aww, still I hoped you have good weekends. I haven't seen any movie in a long while, except on Youtube. I can't remember what the lie was in my last post. :googly:

Lie guess: Difficult one, Nr. 2 perhaps?

1. My jobsearching stopped and I have work.
2. I found out stuff about my maternal grandfather.
3. I plan on writing a sort of farewell story.

Aik, number 2 is true, in fact, and to support being mysterious and enigmatic I won' tell you which on was the lie

Lie Guess: 3 because without any context that sounds quite sad

1) I've had a lot of start and stop moments on the plaza, a desire to write but issues of motivation and will
2) I'd like to take up watercolors to honor my grandmother but I have no idea where and how to start
3) I'm thinking of doing more baking and possibly earning some income off it
