Hey everyone!

I’ve recently (as in last night) discovered that the extended edition of return of the king will be showing in theaters for two days in April! The two days I think can vary by theater but it generally seems to be around 13-14 April. I got my tickets last night and thought I’d make a post here to let others know if they didn’t already!
I’m super excited to see it!

I was surprised to hear about this recently since the screenings will be about eight months before the 20th anniversary they're intended to commemorate, but I'd like to see it, assuming I can drag myself out of the house long enough for a 4+ hour trip to the theatre. I was too young to see any of the films in theatres when they were released, but I saw all three on the big screen in the summer of 2011, during the revival screening that coincided with the release of the EEs on Blu-ray, and I had a blast. Though it was weird not having the fade to black right after Grond's introduction where you'd normally have to do the disc change.

I went...was really surprised they did it at my local theater in my small town! I took my 25 year old son who was 5 the first time round....we really enjoyed it! Still holds up. Still magic!
