If you haven't experienced watching the movies, with a live orchestra, I highly recommend it. It took me back to early 2000 and was better than watching it for the 1st time in theaters.

A few months ago, when I was still recovering from an injury, Blossom Music Center was doing a screening of The Fellowship with the local orchestra playing the soundtrack to movie. It was simply amazing and glad I got to experience it. The orchestra was spot on. If they weren't on the stage, I wouldn't have known the orchestra was there. I took pics and videos, but the files might be too big to share on here. The venue was packed, atmosphere was great for a movie that everyone's seen countless times. It actually kind of spoiled me, because I want them to do The Two Towers and Return of the King screenings w/live orchestra. But I also know, that would have been a daunting task for the orchestra to learn the sheet music for 3 epic 3+ hours movies.

I just recently re-watched Fellowship of the Ring and had a similar thought! (one of many alas this is not the thread for that) Live music, especially something as epic as Howard Shore, ought to happen more regularly. While I've never had the opportunity myself, all the feedback and reviews I've ever heard from those that have say it's one of the best things in the world.
And speaking of, are there any plans to do Two Towers and/or Return of the King?

I haven't seen any plans for that yet, but I've been on the look out. I hope I can get to one, even if it means taking an unexpected vacation. :D
