So I HAVE a TON of art from old Plaza Character wise, 79 pieces in fact on one of the photobuckets. I actually am seeing some of it running around as tiny icons so I know some of you are here but I don't know if you have the art still so am putting them up and as they go up they are getting removed from my photobucket so I can eventually get rid of it.


I will be posting ONLY GYCDH art in this thread, I will label each it as it's names if it belongs to you feel free to let me know and I will credit the character to you.

IF you know you got your piece done by me you're welcome to ask me if I have it still, I am not sure if all of the pieces are on my photobucket but I will look and see and upload it if I can find it. Once I've finished clearing out these, I MAY open a GYCDH though it will most certainly be a much slower thread than the last one as I honestly draw for a living now.

I think I got it pretty close to the drawing you made for me on the Old Plaza, though I added a choker in the shape of Drinch (her pet dragon that she found abandoned near the Sea of Nurnen, check the Minion Biographies thread in Mordor for more information) that may have been given to her by Orngor, her Orcish helper. I also added some weapons and an old face scar, as you can see. I still have the drawing (you'll see the smaller version in my signature) saved on imgur (I ditched Photobucket when they started charging an arm and a leg for Third Party hosting. I'm not sure if they're still doing this, but I never returned).

Oh wow! I had a vague memory of this picture of Scary, but I could never quite put my finger on it. But seeing it posted here brought back all the memories! Now I remember how grateful I was when you drew this for me. Scary was my old character (and username). He got attacked by an animal, hence the two scars across his eyes . And he was a notoriously grubby character, hence the dirty clothing and the holes in the pants. I can't remember what was on the necklace though. Unfortunately hardly any of my RP posts from back in the day actually load on the Wayback Machine, so I haven't had much to go by in the way of going through old Scary memories.

I love your art style, I always did. I'm so glad you posted this.

Yeah I am so glad Two of these have been claimed and I love being reminded of the stories they were involved in etc I absolutely enjoyed creating art for all of the characters that I got to!! (will alter their tags shortly) but gonna post a few more

Also @Lady of Shadow I am actually migrating these from photobucket to my private server and deleting them from photobucket because I refuse to have to pay for more than one month to get my art back from them and post it. I already own a server... The problem will be when I finally use the domain I'm parking them under Im sure.

These are great, Fuin! I am not familiar with all the names. I do remember Rikki for sure. Sirranon and Naia sound very familiar too. And I do remember seeing that picture of the girl and the dragon, but I am not sure who it was. I can not remember if it was you or Freyr who created kimli or Drifa?

@Drifa honestly I'm not sure if I drew either of those characters so I am afraid it might be Freyr. I still have about 50? maybe more characters to go through, I have some from Gaia online as well not always sure which site characters belong to.... most I can figure out by their file names some not so easily.

Thanks Androthelm! I honestly wish that I had drawn more, I don't think I'll be doing any GYCDH freebies, sadly in the other fandom I'm in I get paid to draw characters and they get to come first for the most part and with Covid I don't really think too many people will be purchasing their LOTR characters as art.

Fuin, oh my goodness! I remember seeing so many of these - they were all utterly wonderful! (well - they still are!). What a delightful little treasure trove of gorgeous artwork this is. And yes I really recognise her, think that is one you did for me! And i @Fairy Nuff doesn't recognise the one under it, then another option is it may have been @Fory (who was Forystine on old Plaza). I remember her character always used to wear a green dress, had green eyes and often had a flute.

@Nia I don't think it's Fory I tended to keep the naming convention to what their user name was at the time, so unless Fory was Fairy at some point I think Fairy Nuff is the most likely culprit lol

@WRONG LEVER KRONK! Could be? Halloween is making a bit of a mess of things as people are having other names so tagging is a bit tricky.

@Nia I am afraid I I don't think I have Fory's character I only have a few characters left dressed in green and sadly none of them have green eyes. Unless it's not been put into the right folder I am a little over half way finished with the characters I have the folder is getting really close to empty... I've found a few big names in there still

Honestly I'm amazed at how many different characters I drew in terms of types of characters as well as giving characters with similar descriptions (Elleth, dark hair, green dress seemed to be exceptionally common)

I've been following your updates in here for a while but somehow haven't commented yet! Thanks for sharing these with us, Fuin - it is so cool to see so many characters brought to life. Do you have a favorite medium for art like this?

@Zôrzimril These are probably the last ones unless I find copies of the ones that glitched or any more as I clear out the main 'plaza folder' And it really depends on the character and the composition traits I'm trying to portray. I do a lot of furry character art commissions and I do A LOT of that digitally now (I've gotten way better and way faster at it and can do a lot more effects like water colour digitally now vs almost over 10 years ago now. They other medium I get a lot of commissions for (especially at conventions) is Copic Markers I only have a few in here as I had a much smaller collection when I was just starting now I have over 100 different colours and still growing and I do a lot of art with them. I oddly enough have really enjoyed pencil crayon again now that I have a huge full set of the prismacolours (which is what I drew Fuin with recently for character art)
Over all I'd say I don't have a favourite medium for this sort of art, I like using what feels right for the character and how big the piece is. (Honestly I have two commissions coming up that are full on realistic oil paintings that are $150 each for a fairly small canvas that are being donated for charity which is why they aren't costing more. Would love to do a human/humanoid portrait at some point but as I don't do more than one freebie a year generally anymore and it's a bit of a lotto as to who gets the freebie and what I feel like doing I doubt the humanoid oil painting will get done any times soon

Anyways this thread is now basically done I think I may put up character art costs if anyone wants to buy character art of their characters (though honestly the quality will be more like well... Here is the latest pencil crayon type character art I've done or one may find I decide to do the character lotto on here this year as I haven't done it yet in 2020 anywhere.
