Audible has a major sale on at present, peeps.
You can pick up short Tolkien treasures such as Mr Bliss (read by Sir Derek Jacobi) for 82p (GBP currency) and they also have the Tolkien translation of Sir Gawain for under £5.
I love Martin Shaw's reading of The Silmarillion and Rob Inglis does something wonderful with TLOTR, including singing the songs. All are presently on sale, as is Humphrey Carpenter's excellent Tolkien biography.
These audio versions of the great man's works really do them justice in a big way.
I just wish there was an audio version of The Unfinished Tales ...

I have never used Audible. I have The Hobbit on my ancient packed-away PC though. Don't know which version I have, but I remember enjoying it.
