@Dimcairien Luiniel No problem! Also, what exactly are you looking to put in the archives? I've been going through some of the oldest captures but I'm not sure what it is you want to archive.

P.S. Wow! We used to make such short army RPG posts back in the day. Reading through my stuff, I couldn't help laughing. It was all crisp and to the point, and I do believe our posts were written mostly for interaction. Now we appear to have evolved into the art of story telling and all its elements! Interesting... :ugeek:

I think you covered everything, @Dimcairien Luiniel ! I'll take a look at what you have today and begin to display everything I've been saving to a Wordpad document on my laptop. :smiley17:

@Nen , then (you probably were thinking that I would have someone do this) I'll have my Lorien Guard character - Nenmallen, related to the Mordagnirs - give Mistriel a bow and arrows to fill her quiver. I would say armor as well but I know Silvans prefer going lightly armored. Yeah, we've evolved our storytelling skills alright! That's always the goal, my old friend. :smiley17:

I've tried to make Imladris feel homey as I can with my share of the threads, @Nolewen ,by re-releasing many of the activities we used to have in Eriador. I'm happy that we have plenty of TRs helping out here. Yes, Moriel and I are planning to ressurect Angmar as an enemy again and laying the foundation for it; I have started to with Osdolen and in the Bree-land. Khallador found an Orc helmet with Amarthel's emblem and my elven character Astaro heard from a Dwarf that Orcs are attacking a North Downs village called Trestlebridge (Armathel's Orcs). I don't know if you want to continue with Jadis but I'm sure you and Moriel can plot; they could help co-lead like the Sith Lords of Star Wars. I'd love to help out in any way if you want her serving Amarthel; I can be one of your lieutenants :smiley11: . I'm also beginning to make the Hill-men as antongonists with Cassie's help. You can get settled in with Elsiner coming into Ost-Halatir officers' hall and hearing Aigronding speak to the soldiers there and be the first one to say that you'll go with Gellam (so far no one has but [/b]Frost[/b]has asked Tavari if he's ready for the assignment so I know Frost is interested. Let me know if you want me to help you get in other threads, let's get back to writing and plotting together like the olden days :smiley17: !

@Aigronding Mordagnir I'm not sure that back then I thought that was the goal... :smiley16: But I can tell that at times I was enjoying myself beyond the interaction. :smiley8: Anyway, back to business. Sure, Aig! I'll play Mistriel according to the flow of your post. I like things to be spontaneous sometimes. So, you do what your character would naturally do and be ready for and I'll respond with mine. However, me thinks I should get a post up of some sort. Do I post in Ost-Halatir?

@Nen I’m still working on some of the details, but basically any RP threads (both structured and free) that would have location info or character bios, essential storylines, OP posts for game threads if we ever want them revived (which is how I found the WS info). Also, things that might be relevant to Plaza history such as ruler info or IK events.

Pretty much anything that is worth preserving. If you have any ideas of things I should be on the lookout for, let me know. I hope to spend more time traversing the Wayback this week.

I think that will be exciting, @Nen :D ! You can post Ost-Halatir. You can title that post and those forthcoming with me and Quill as "The Colony." You'll see why as the story unfolds though there's mention of it such in The Hobbit... And you can write beneath that: "Chapter Two" and you can title that anything you please. Just have Mistriel and her father being separated with Mistriel fleeing towards a cavern in the Misty Mountains (not the one cavemouth Quill and I are about to enter though; you're on the forested opposite side of the mountain wall), terrified of the skirmish and afraid for her father'sl ife but desperate to seek some kind of haven from the surrounding Orcs. Sounds good to start with? :smiley8:

Right, @Aigronding Mordagnir. I posted in Ost-Halatir and requested to go with Gellam. I'm still debating what to do with Jadis; I feel she changed; more of a warrior than a sorceress now. While serving others is not her style, she may decide to formally "ally" herself with the Iron Queen. We finished the Queen of Iron RPG, I think, and I was just devising a new Angmar Arising RPG when the Plaza went down. The Ice Fortress and the Angmar Army weren't too successful, though, and I think returning the reins to Moriel as Queen of Angmar would be wise. I imagine Jadis could still make plenty of trouble without being Queen. Whatever happened to the Witch-queen?

Nolewen, I like that idea! Jadis doing her own thing, but still a useful ally for Amarthel. Right now, she's a shadowy figure in the background, as I/we figure exactly what Angmar is going to be on Nu Plaza, but the essentials are the same. Glad you're on board with the Queen of Iron :smiley17:

Also, Gellam is going to be utterly flummoxed at being called a lord :smiley9:

Without giving too much away, @Nolewen, I think you might be able to venture a guess as to how the faction previously known as Aura, Drest and co shall be also .. ‘rebranding’. We’re thinking less witch-y, more wild. :smiley10:

It is good to see Elsilner back at Ost-Halatir :smiley22:

I had a feeling he would :smiley9: but Elsilner doesn't know him yet. As for Angmar, Jadis will certainly be pleased to be useful. If I could be any help with the planning, I'll be glad to join.

Thanks, @Ercassie . I missed that hint. Perhaps Jadis could cooperate with her too? @Aigronding Mordagnir They had some strong bonds in the past. Maybe for now she'll go to the Hill-men, at least until she can tell which way the wind blows in Angmar. I'm guessing something happened there that overthrew her, possibly an elf-Ranger invasion, and now she's seeking revenge but doesn't trust the current rulers of her former Kingdom enough to immediately join them. She'll feel threatened by Amarthel, but she won't have enough power to investigate without Aura's support, so she'll flee to Rhudaur (though I'm certain "fleeing" won't be the way she describes it) and stay low for a while. Once she sees it's safe, she may decide to offer her assistance to the Iron Queen.

If we’re planning some sort of Angmar RPG, I’d love to throw my hat into the ring. I want something I can use to make Frost more sinister and less disaster flirt in pubs. He’s had a few flashes of really nasty bits but I’d love something where I can draw it out. And I also have the sentient grimoire.

Ah, the secret is out, @Ercassie @Nolewen . Yes, less witch-y and more wild-y. Cassie and I agreed that my Aura-like replacement has her power based on Tolkien rune-like magic and I have her descended from both the Rhudaurians (still having her be a scion of the Angmar lord who the Witch-king was in league with), Dunlendings, and the Woses. She's more of a tribal fighter as Chieftess than a witch. You'll see soon, Cassie and I are about ready to launch the Hillmen as enemies this week. The Aura-like substitue is Chieftess of the Red Shrike clan, a brutal tribe which practices impalement and hanging. She doesn't want the Dunedain or Elves in eastern Eriador, considering them usurpers and invaders; she's uniting the clans to attack the Dunedain/Rangers and Elves/Host. I'd still like to re-forge the bonds she and Jadis, yes! Hopefully Cassie and I can get you started right away depending on what her upcoming Drest post is like or could be adjusted to accomodate you, Nolewen.

So right now we have Umbarians battling Lindon and infilrating Eriador's hills of Cardolan.
Soon bandits in Arethedain up from the Greenway. I need to bring back Helwen Grimsteel and get her in Deadman's Dike / Fornost.
Aura-like Hill clan chieftess bothering the Rangers and Elves.
The Orcs of the Misty Mountains strengthening (as they are mentioned to be in Fellowship of the Ring).
The fiercest Orcs and Hobgoblins of the Grey Mountains and Dragons of the North harassing the Vale of Anduin, Lorien, and Mirkwood.
Amarthel lurking in the background and sending her few Angmarian Orcs into Eriador lightly assaulting it. Soon the small number of men she has can begin battling the Rangers, too.

We're getting Amarthel on the scene, @Bïfrøst , so I'm sure she'll help you become part of the buildup, too. My Angmarian, Dhamon Blackwolf, serves her stil as a soldier. Let's all just keep in mind how small the Angmarian remnant is still since the fall of the Witch-king.

Not that small Aig- I'm thinking similar levels to post-QoI, which admittedly wasn't huge, but also not tiny either. Since we're going with the idea that Tezcacoatl is on the scene, certain things have definitely still happened that attracted more people to the Angmarian cause! Carn Dûm has been re-established, etc. I've also been going with the idea (in my head, as I've been figuring out what to do with her :smiley16: ) that the events of Coup concerning the Flight of Ravens have still occurred. Working on but have not yet launched any threads. Since there seems to be interest I'll move those things forward on the project list and get with you to plot some more :smiley17:

Yes @Moriel, not tiny. It was difficult coming up with a word to exactly describe a nice medium that's menacing (what you described goes for my Hill-men tribes which be united in a loose confederacy, too) :smiley9: and okay, I'll be online these next four days since I don't have any shifts :smiley17: . A series of AoA and Beyond posts I'll be working on and The Last Homely House but I'm around :smiley11: !

@Aigronding Mordagnir Okay, so my post for Mistriel is UP! And I'm going to guess that the colony you're referring to is the colony of dwarves led by Balin, right? Also, there's a surprise HERE. :D

No, just the fact there's Orc colonies. You just stumbled into one 🤣. I'll read in the morning! Need to solve this formatting on a post before bed. I hate all the coding we have to do now. It's going on 6 in the morning here and I haven't slept. 😴

Wonderful. If I remember correctly, @Ercassie, there was little love (or rather, open hatred) between Jadis and Drest. We will certainly have some fun seeing those two meet again.

Jadis is a descendant of Black Númenóreans, who grew up in the Ice Bay. So while she was strongly influenced by the Lossoth, she never found her place among them, and neither did her family, who despised her for the strange powers she had, rare heirlooms of an ancient Númenórean tradition. I actually think I once wrote that after she ran away and gained some power and confidence in the South, she came back to the Ice Bay and murdered her family. All this means she doesn't quite have any place where she belongs. She went to Angmar because the Witch-king was feared and worshipped among her people, but that wasn't her original home either. So right now she should be desperate, wild, friendless, power-hungry, and looking for a place where she could belong. Thus she'll find the Hillmen tribes attractive, if they could give her some sense of authority and home, especially if she'd been in league with their chieftain during her time in Angmar.

Frost is by no means an Angmarian fanatic (for lack of a better term) but he is an opportunist and likes having his fingers in as many pies as possible. He’s a Black Númenorean but Sil has insisted a few times that he’s also got some Snowman in him as well so there’s a possible connection to the area itself.

:smiley9: @Nolewen. Drest was always a hillmen, he and his sister were the Last of the StoneClaw Clan when Aura and co took them in. So it’s not a huge stretch of my imagination to retcon him now to @Aigronding Mordagnir’s Red Shrikes. Particularly when I’m too lazy to find a different icon ! :smiley15:

He was loyal to Aura except for when he wasn’t, seeking to gain his own glory by deeds outside of her ambitions, in a vain effort to impress her. I do recall that it didn’t really impress her at all, which was how he got sent to Jadis in the first place. Recruiting many clans of the hillmen in a hope they would serve Aura, under his own arrogant command of course (for he had chosen to recruit his own kinfolk naturally), she sentenced him to surrender all those hillmen to the service of Jadis instead. Your ice queen did not meet him on a good day ! To say the least !

I don’t know whether my current plot shall turn out to involve a very different hillman, or rather Drest himself, having lost all of his power and assuming an alias/also in hiding .. only time will tell. In any case he’s causing some trouble in a post I’m writing and you are of course welcome to encounter him in response when it’s up. :smiley10:

I support writing dark characters which murder their families (gestures at Hatholdir who killed both his parents). Makes interesting stories (also gestures at Darth Vader). Aura disciplining Drest was one of my favorite posts to write and the one she killed his sister. I miss her but I think I'll love her replacement.

*Thinks* Drest could encounter Jadis in the post sequence @Ercassie is writing, @Nolewen like she just offered. Drest could believe taking a chance on her could mean he'd rise higher in the favor of Marika, the new Aura, if Jadis proves useful. Drest could bring her to Marika and she gives Jadis a mission against the Rangers or Elves to accomplish. If she performs superbly, Marika can give Jadis one of her clans in the unified confederacy of Hillmen tribes to lead. It would mean power, friends, stability, respect, and a sense of belonging - all the things Jadis seems to be looking for.

Does that sound good for y'all 😘😘💝💝.

I sense some serious deja-vu going on in this set up ! Drest will be suitably annoyed to see Jadis swan in and take a position of power which he is incapable of securing for himself ! :smiley9: Let the ‘little love/open hatred‘ resume ! :smiley15:

Forget the clone wars, that might just lead to the ‘Clan’ wars @Aigronding Mordagnir ! :smiley9: But I’m sure they’d be competitive which might lead to productive things in the long run. :smiley22:

No not my hair!! :smiley16: alternatively, there is also my giant spider, Carníheniel, who has made her home in Ered Mithrin. A mission could be undertaken with Frost in tow to try and secure her support.

Excellent. @Ercassie @Aigronding Mordagnir I should bring Jadis up in a reply to Cassie's Drest post. Assuming they don't kill each other on the way, they might just make it to Marika and get a mission against the elves and Rangers. Jadis will be pleased to avenge her fallen Kingdom. (By the way, I'm thinking I'll leave Maugrim - her former Maia servant - out of this entire thing. He was always a bit of a coward, and it shouldn't be difficult to explain his absence by saying he fled when the Ice Queen's Angmar fell and is hiding somewhere, possibly for the next Age or so. As for some of her other minions, one of them - an assassin - should be making his happy way to Mordor, hopefully to resurface in Eriador as a more trained killer in the future.)

Marika is ready when y'all are, @Ercassie !

@Nolewen , you should bring your Dwarf to Ered Lindon. There are evil Dwarves from the east (Tolkien mentions them in both The Peoples of Middle-earth history and in The Silmarillion). I have them mixed in with the good Dwarves from the east (Tolkien mentions Frodo knowing about Dwarves out of the east fleeing from Sauron's forces in Fellowship of the Ring: The Shadow of the Past) going to Ered Lindon. I already have had Aigronding mention discovering them in Lindon during last adventure out there. The Lindon Guard will be fighting them as well as Umbarians.

I remember the good and evil Dwarves in the Blue Mountains, I had a representative character from each kind (one was in the Nightshade RPG, the other in secret league with Jadis and Angmar). Any specific RP you'd like me to join with one of them, @Aigronding Mordagnir? I also have an elf in Lindon (do we have any access to the Eriador Character Submission thread in the old Plaza? I was trying to remember some details about him), if his help is needed (you may recall him - I think he was in contact with your Bree publishers about a children's book he wrote, entitled "Into the Blue"). By the way, if the Bree Watch will be coming back any time soon, my Shirriff Took of the Shire might be interested in coming to visit it. Also, I posted in the Paths of Eriador. To those who knew her as a powerful queen (and possibly to some who didn't) the changes should be quite startling.

I did enjoy your Jadis post @Nolewen :smiley22: Both old and new feels to it all at once: perfect ! I am *almost* finished with my post for Drest. As I have his shenanigans occurring around the Midgewater Marshes, and you have Jadis currently at the Trollshaws, should I assume he encounters her, hot on the tail of a little Elf-shaped setback, en route back to Marika at Nin-in-Eilph ? Or do you want me to note at the end of my post that he had a witness to his ahem .. ambush ? :smiley16:

Thanks! Glad you enjoyed it, Cassie. I can bring Jadis over to Midgewater Marshes, considering she's not doing much now except scare some birds in the Trollshaws. She can easily wander across the Hoarwell and into the Weather Hills, accidentally meeting Drest someplace near Midgewater. @Ercassie

I'm loving the character development between Aigronding and Gellam, @Moriel !

There's no specific RPs that you could join with them right now, @Nolewen , but I have plans for the future concerning the Dwarves - both the good and evil - as well as the Lindon Guard outside of Ost-Halatir. Sometime next month or in August I'm going to make a base for the Lindon Guard within the Lindon Free RP so fighters for that Elven group can battle on sea (Umbarians) and on land in western Eriador with the Dwarven host. After we're done with the Orc&Dragon and Angmar RPs, I'll re-establish the Nightshade RP restarting it with us coming to Tol Fuin island and looking for clues. You could then play your Dwarves in those once I launch the stories. This is the link to one Character Submissions I found http://web.archive.org/web/201509191305 ... ubmissions ; your characters I saw on the second page, I think, but not sure if I see the Elf you're talking about who I do remember though. I'm going to make the Bree Market sometime next month and the Hill Watch will be part of the few Bree activities I'll make in July, too. Your Shirriff is welcome to hang out with my Sherriff! I enjoyed reading about Jadis hitting rock bottom but I'll be intrigued seeing her star rising again soon :smiley11: . I'll wait for Cassie to post next before I introduce Marika.

Nice to see Campian back, Alla! A classic Rohan thread.

Glad you enjoyed reading the Jadis post, @Aigronding Mordagnir. :smiley11: Raising her star now is going to take some work, but I felt she had to be a little unmade to properly be built up again as a wild warrior instead of a witch. Hopefully I'm going to enjoy refashioning her. As for Lindon, I think I'll wait with my dwarves until you relaunch Nightshade, though I might bring up the aforementioned elf sooner. This Character Submissions link was unfortunately captured a few years before I posted his biography, but I think I'll try to rewrite it from what I can remember (and thankfully I found one letter he sent, so I have his address and epessë as well). Great to hear about Bree coming back to life; when the Watch is up my Shirriff might come and visit.

I am sorry to say my Drest post is taking a little longer than I’d hoped to come together. :smiley14: If you would rather not wait on me and instead have your Jadis meet Marika directly, without the middle man so to speak, then I would absolutely not blame you. :smiley11:

It's okay for me, @Ercassie 😘💝. It's taken five days so far to make my Ard-galen to Barad Eithel post with Tharmaras and Crabanel (almost done though) for AoA. I'd rather @Nolewen and I wait for you to finish your Drest post because you already have plenty written. If she doesn't mind.

I'll read the bio today on my day off, Nolewen :smiley17: ! Your Sheriff is welcomed on cases or just to talk local politics with my Sherriff Miles Brackenbrook over a cup of coffee and tarts. Hopefully I can get you playing a Bree-lander, too. In addition to the Hill Watch, I'm going to have a treasure-hunting RP concerning a band of ne'er-do-wells looking for relics of Cardolan for my antiques dealer at the Breetown Market which will also be a thread (and featuring the bookstore of Ann's mom). So that's three Bree activities, four really if you count the Pony. I was thinking of making a Boy Scouts / Girl scouts (Do you know what those are? I don't know if you're American) comedic / dice-based activity for young and cute Bree-lander misfit characters (with adult supervisors) who earn their merit badges in camping misadventures in the Chetwood and elsewhere in Cardolan :smiley9: :smiley9: :smiley9: :smiley9: Loosely inspired from the old 'Walking' hike threads of the Shire Kingdom on the Plaza from many years ago about a band of halfling wanderers rambling through wilderness. I'd like to bring that to Bree with my own amusing spin.

@Ercassie No problem! I can wait.

@Aigronding Mordagnir Wonderful. I'll be happy to see all those new Bree threads; we have some Walking Club experience in the Shire as you've mentioned; perhaps my Shirriff Took will come to visit your Bree Scouts as well (the idea sounds both hilarious :smiley9: and terribly irresponsible on behalf of the Breeland parents, allowing their children to wander in the Wild when people like Drest and Company are on the loose there :smiley12:).

Your Sherriff Took is welcome to rescue, er, visit the Bree Scouts any time, @Nolewen :smiley9: ! I've been dropping hints in Bree posts lately that there's been some trouble in the villages and disappearances in the big local forest. In my next post in The Bree-land Free RP, I have planned that my characters Annabelle Snapdragon and her best friend Miranda Peppermint don't want the kids they have playing with their buddies in the woods until the crisis is over. But, of course, there's going to be irresponsible parents and those do exists even in our world :smiley9: .

Have you seen any amazing role-play and want to applaud the genius behind it and point at it for everyone to see and say 'wow, have you seen that? Look at that, isn't it great?

Have you recently been impressed with someone's amazing knowledge of lore and the speed in which they respond to queries and are wondering if somehow they are cheating and actually their like a walking encyclopedia like Data off Start Trek, but Tolkien-based?

Are you quietly a little intimated by someone's cunning riddle skills but you want to let them know its ok, you still love them, you're struggling to keep up but are actually really glad they have found someone to exhibit this frighteningly impressive ability!

Is there someone in particular that has made you feel super welcome and listened to you, coached you when you needed a bit of a cinfidence boost, or who made you feel validated and uplifted on the plaza and now you just want to give them a big, massive, digital hug?

Share the love here:- viewtopic.php?f=7&t=361

This is not the greatest thread in the world. No, this is just a tribute!

When I launch the Bree Market there will be a few shops open that I'll run  but is there anyone who'd be interested in owning a store there? RP'ing employees is encouraged. If anyone would like to help me build the market thread in any way, I'm excited to plan with you  !

@Nolewen @Aigronding Mordagnir,

I haven’t forgotten Drest. Should be up by tomorrow at this rate. :winkkiss:

@Moriel @Aigronding Mordagnir : I'm thinking of bringing back a Lindon elf of mine that didn't get to see much RP in the old plaza. And while I did away with the brother she had gone adventuring with in her old bio, I've decided to keep him alive here. So, I'm bringing in two elves of the Lindon guard. Is that okay with you guys?

Definitely okay, @Nen ! Let me know their names and which Lindon Guard ranks you'd like for them. They can be in the Colony storyline. I'll be writing for the Host soon. I've gotta write for Ercassie and AoA for a few days first before I move us onward in the Guards RP. There will come a time this month when I'll set us up with a Lindon Guards mission on our home turf in the Lindon Free RP. :hobbyhorse:

@Moriel , I'll be posting soon as Edan and Taurina at the outpost you are leading the guards to  . That way we can see what's going on with them until Tavari appears with help.
