Hi friends

Well, you asked for this to be in the style of the Eurovision contest but we were unable to make this format really fit, largely because
  • it would require every single one of you to publicly declare your votes in reverse order in a couple of languages whilst wearing a flashy outfit, which we thought would be cool but we shouldn’t make compulsory, and
  • We don’t have the fireworks budget
so instead we thought we would simply announce your new admin team…
… with a bit of suspense

Firstly we would like to thank each & every one of you for taking part. Everyone voted and commented thoughtfully. Nobody was mean spirited. It was said by quite a few people - and we agree - this was a hard choice to make because the nominees were of high quality. Nobody received nil points, and assuming we last long enough for the next election (and there was basically universal consensus that we should continue with elections going forward), we will all have lots of great candidates again.

ok now onto the good part
your new admin team, in alphabetical order, is

Moriel
Narv
Sil
Tarawen
Winddancer


All of these were in the top 4 vote-getters, except Narv. Nobody voted for Narv but as he is an unlodgeable troll (for now) this doesn’t matter. Narv made his Narv Pick independently, and it turns out that person had the 4th most votes anyway, so that was a happy moment for Democracy.

I also want to use this post to thank Uruva for everything she has done to keep this place afloat for the last month - to the extent that I appear to know what I'm doing at all on this site, that has been largely thanks to her thoughtfulness and decisiveness, which will be missed. As mentioned at the start of this, she'll be staying on for a week or two to help get the new crew up to speed on things.

So, that's that for now. Thanks again to everyone who participated and especially to all the nominees who were willing to put their time and sanity on the line for this little site. We're very grateful and hope you will continue to make yourselves heard and help us keep this place going - if we're gonna make it long-term it will be because of the passion of all of us members, not the subset called Admins. Our job is mostly to try not to screw it up. We will do our best :smiley24:

Congratulations to the new admins! Thank you to everybody who put their name forward as well. It takes a significant amount of effort to run an online community and it was lovely to see so many people willing to step up. Special thanks to Uruva as well, I think you should get some kind of legacy recognition for helping to pull all of this together. I don't really know what I mean by legacy recognition, but it sounds cool :smiley22: .
