Update: Voting has closed! Thanks everyone for participating and we will be announcing the new team shortly (like, within a day).
Hello friends

All our nominees have now posted their statements, which are compiled here: viewtopic.php?f=8&t=265

Hopefully you’ve had time to read and consider them (if not, please do!), so we are now opening voting for 5 days.

Votes are to be sent in the following format:

Your plaza username

First Nominee: <username of your first pick as admin>. This person will receive THREE VOTE points from you

Second nominee: <username of your second pick as admin>. This person will receive TWO VOTE POINTS from you.

Third nominee: <username of your third pick as admin>. This person will receive ONE VOTE POINT from you.

You don’t have to pick three nominees: you can pick just one or two if that’s what you prefer. As with nominations, you are absolutely encouraged to vote for yourself, assuming you think you'd do a good job.

You can also leave a comment if you want. Why might this be relevant: the current admin team will have their own pick for the fifth admin as well, and we will consider your comments when choosing someone to fit in with Narv and the rest of the voted in team.

We hope this selection process will give us an admin team of five: Narv, three chosen by the members, and one admin pick, which will be a well rounded team to run the plaza for the next six months. In order to ensure there’s no perceived “hierarchy” in the team, we won’t be saying who was elected based on member votes or who was the “first” or who was the admin vote. How we rotate the team around will be part of what the new admin team will consider, and we appreciate the ideas brought up in the original election thread for handling that.

Votes need to go to [email protected]. Please remember to state your plaza username and send it from the email you signed up with, so we can make sure everything is hunky-dory.

Please send your votes to [email protected] before 11:59pm PST on Tuesday, June 16th!

Once again, thanks for being part of this with us and we hope it all goes smoothly!

PS we're trying to make this real prominent for a day or two by un-announcifying the other 'announcement' types threads -- they'll be back to their rightful place shortly I promise

Thanks!

On that note, we'll be sending brief 'thanks for voting' replies to every vote we get once it's recorded. If you don't receive a reply after say... a day? It might mean your vote got lost in the ether so please follow up.

Sent! Can I just say a quick thanks for giving me the opportunity to vote in an election for the first time in MANY YEARS where I got to pick from an excellent pool of candidates rather than the 'least-worst' choice? Because seriously. THANK YOU.

I had quite a lengthy plaza sabatical and even though I don't know any of the candidates personally, just went by the bios and keeping the spirit that Narv, Sil and Uruva have laid the foundation on. Best of luck to all candidates. :smiley8:

I’m game but all the nominees will have to present some kind of talent show through song and we’ll all have to get spectacularly drunk

I'm definitely in for the latter part of that suggestion, Sil. Which I'm sure could then develop nicely into the former :smiley15:

A talent show through song would be amazing. You would have to pay me a lot of money though to perform an artistic version of the "I'm too sexy" song

The fox simply wondered why there were four hobbits out in the middle of nowhere.

Also, got my votes in. Thanks for having an election where all of the candidates are great options who I can trust to lead the plaza well.

Can I do a talent instead, and exhibit my excellent impression of Dory, loudly and awkwardly in a packed public space? (Again)

Hmm, 'bout the only talent I have is I can move my eyelids reminiscent of the the 'blink' the alien does before jumping off the roof at the beginning of MiB.

Though, I did play a good bit of French Horn in my younger days. Pretty much the only time I play it now is helping my daughter with her recorder. Making sure she stays in tempo and such.

Voted nice and late. With this great of a slate it was difficult to cast votes.
I think it would be very fun to have a talent show, although perhaps the book of faces or discord would be an easier way to share those talents.

Thanks for voting everyone! We'll be announcing the results shortly (tomorrow / later today depending on when you read this and which continent you're on).

(i am canadian and have no idea what you are all talking about with the eurovision business so prepare for disappointment on that front... that's like American Idol but run by the EU or something, right?)

That's no excuse. In an honourable demonstration of open-mindedness and inclusivity, Australia have been part of it for several years now.

if Spokane were a continent, perhaps I would know such things. But the reality of the matter is that I have no idea what on earth you just said or what Spokane is, or WHL for that matter. So I stand down.

(Literally falls out of bed laughing at the idea of the EU running American Idol)

Erm, not quite. It’s kinda a singing competition for European countries that then expanded to include Australia for some reason. The public vote via telephone polling, but it’s actually officials that distribute points (lots of them). All the acts have to be independent artists, and despite it being a ‘talent’ show half the countries vote for their allies and neighbours. It’s very camp and colourful, there are always some absurd acts, and the UK believe themselves to be notorious for doing terribly and getting (French accent) ‘nil point’

Nothing to do with the EU, which is pure politics. The Eurovision’s own politics is a beast in and of itself.
