Lord of the Rings Fanatics Plaza

Some of us have been lamENTing the loss of this place, so without further ado...



Whether you are an anciENT dweller of Fangorn (and Isengard!) from a bygone era (Old Plaza), or a brand new sapling or wizard freshly sprouted (I’m sure wizards sprout), whether you wear a slowly growing tree as your icon, or have made your home in other lands, you are most welcome here.

This is Fangorn's special place for the Ents and Wizzies amongst us to celebrate special occasions both Ent-sized and Hobbit-sized, and where dwellers of all kingdoms can come share in the general merrimENT of these festiviTREES. It is also a place for visitors from near and far to come and thank their fellow Plazaites, congratulate each other on our successes - both on the Plaza and IRL.

Some notices:

• Monthly plazaversary celebrations are most definitely in order, and they should be observed here! The 14th / 15th June marks many of our first full month back after two years+ of walking through the wilderness that is LWP (life without Plaza). Let’s go mad.

• Entish Birthdays - we’re all getting pretty old, but all the more reason to celebrate the increasingly majestic number of years we are each racking up. If people fancy sharing what date their birthday is, I can keep the OP updated to ensure no one is overlooked on their special day.

• Other reasons to party? Share them here! Whether you’ve just had an excellent delivery of wine you need to rave about, you’ve finally understood the meaning of the term ‘cabin fever’, or something wildly grand has happened or is happening, such as the appearance of little Entings, engagements, weddings, acquiring of new skills, certifications or homes etc. This is the place to let everyone know!

My RL birthday is January 3 (same as Tolkien's!)
My original Plazaversary was January 24
My new Plazaversary is May 15

Thanks for bringing this back Nia! It was always one of my favorites on the Old Plaza!

@Li. oh exciting (and a bit terrifying, yes!). Mine's not a million miles away - I'm very aware of it looming ahead in the not too distant future! Your birthday falls two days after the next 'review' point, so who knows what exciting form your RL celebrations may be permitted to take?! :smiley8:

Great idea about old Plazaversaries, @Mojo ! Also if you let me know the year, then we know how many candles are needed for the old plazaversaries. Your birthday also happens to be one day before my sister's, which makes you officially part of the crew of people it is annually a total terror to gift-buy for :smiley8: .

My new plazaversary is 14 May

Ooh, I love sharing dates. And I see the word wizzies in this thread!

My birthday and new plaza join date are almost the same, and very recent! I joined new plaza May 21st and had my birthday on the 23rd! My old plazaversary was August 27th 2006.

And as some of you know, a new duckling joined the family just a few days ago, on June 9th. I would say he is happy and healthy, but so far mostly just healthy haha. He's a kicker with a temper!

Wow, January is going to be a BUSY month around here! Lots of things to celebrate!

@Mojo Hitting the fermented Entdraught any? He's the wee hours of the morning for this Huorn. Yeah Fangorn is fun - for the silly kind of fun.

They are very excited! This is our first girl, and our oldest has definitely set the tone for the rest of them. He's been asking for a sister since we were expecting #2, and this is #5.

I had to do a search of the Wayback machine as I always get the date of my original registration for the plaza wrong. I lurked for months before joining on November 15, 2002. New plazaversary is May 14.
Birthdays just keep on coming, and I celebrate May 7th.
