Lord of the Rings Fanatics Plaza

Hear ye!
This is the new Officers’ Mess hobbit hole, set-up for hobbits and other folk who wish to sign-up to the SDS - The Shire Defence Squad. This is where willing members will swear allegiance to our precious Shire, and be ready to defend it if and when the time comes. SDS membership is also open to those of other races that would support the Shire when necessary.
Members of the SDS may also be invited on various quests.
A training ground will be opened shortly where fully joined-up members will be able to hone their skills either in single, paired or group combat scenarios.

Multiple sign-ups per plaza member are appreciated if you have an alternate or several role playing characters, or else would like to start one!

To sign-up, just copy the appropriate oath, and sign in your name afterwards where it is needed:

I, Tylwyth Took, being a hobbit of the Shire and Fangorn Forest, curvy, and reasonably brave sometimes, swear allegiance to this the Shire Defence Squad. I swear loyalty and fealty to my homeland of the Shire, except if they're being ridiculous and not worth loyalty, or I'm having a rebellious day, and to the good inhabitants therein. If by my life I may protect it, this I will try to avoid doing, as honestly I'd way rather keep my life so can I not pledge that bit, but if by my rambling and wittering online I may protect it, I'll do that

Welcome to the SDS @Saranna , and, (I think), Tylwyth Took.

Saranna, it is exciting to have our first Elf in the Shire Defence Squad. Tylwyth, that is undoubtedly the most confusing swaering-in I have ever heard !

I will shortly be opening the training grounds where we will be able to hone our combat, survival and battlefield skills.

That's a fair point @Periantar, it was a bit of a rambling pledge, I didn't want to pledge anything I couldn't uphold.
