She enjoyed the dancing, close-call race to-ing and fro-ing with the Delta Flyer a little longer, but no matter how hard she tried she just didn't seem able to get ahead of it, and her appreciation for Seven of Nine's piloting skills grew exponentially. She had gained the name of the pilot from querying the computer between barrel-rolls and sprint bursts; sadly her hail had not yet been answered, but in many ways that warmed Georgiou to this stranger even more, and in other ways it was a disappointment. "Why bother to try winning the race if you don't know how to gloat over your victories?" she said aloud to 'The Winddancer' as her latest attempt to break past the Delta Flyer was thwarted by the other shuttle's sudden manoeuvre.

The lack of communicative engagement took some of the fun out of the chase for her, and to fill the quiet she unmuted the race commentary to wince at the excitable tone and volume being projected by Neelix. She frowned, as much in pain as in thought, and scanned her sensors again for the positioning of the field. The Pike was in the lead, or was it? Was it headed towards the finish line? Or had it already won? And if it had won, was its victory the race, or something else?

Either way, she was wise enough to recognise now the folly in attempting to climb to a higher position; Neelix was clearly so ear-poppingly enthusiastic that the lead shuttles must be nearing the finish (if they had no passed it already) and she was nowhere near them. Time to turn her attention elsewhere, namely escaping from the sector before reports of poor Lieutenant Linus' incarceration in a Jeffrey's tube reached DS-9. "Well then Winddancer, it seems that the Alpha Quadrant is too small for us. Let's go find some prey to give us a -real- chase" she said with her trademark giggle that erupted into a laugh as she quickly set in an alternative course, 'The Winddancer' accelerating quickly away from the other shuttles and far outside the established race circuit.
