@Shivased Can I please buy Se Hæland Æ ~ For Sale ~ Healing herbs, remedies and supplies?? Sigrid would be the owner :D
Also if I can and you edit, can you please add Caddrick (Veo) as an apprentice to my carpenter store too? Keep him in his shop, but also add the npc to mine :)

Ok that is no problem. I think I will be staying on in Rohan for a while yet. Maybe when I have more free time I'll develop my charecter more in Gondor and the Mark?

@Calimir We will be happy to have you! I was actually quite keen on the idea of ‘hiring’ a PC to deliver a missive rather than just posting as an NPC myself, but on this particular occasion an easier solution conveniently presented itself. It’s a really lovely character concept and I look forward to see where you take it.

@Taethowen, Some updates for your map of settlements, thankee-sai, Sai.
The Hammerhelm Tet ~ Homes & 'steads
• Hwictahow (Breeze Hill)
Aodh's homestead: 4,500 acres .
West Emnet, west bank of Entwash, 40 miles north of Snowbourn.
(in the little bow of the Ondelo, between the caption West Emnet & R Snowbourn)
• Cald Mannes Hǣþ (Cold Man's Heath)
Ælfred the One-Eyed & Sheemie Rheus's village,
situated in the Folde, 15 miles north west of Aldburg.
in a wooded vale south west of the Great West Rd.
• Oferwyrðe Ceola (Worthy Cottage)
Aodh & Ringbold Took's cottage, The Shambles, Auld Town Edoras.
It's situated midway between the northern watchtower and the road that leads from the North Gate.
PS: Still working on your siggy. They are tricky to get right: only allowed to be 50 pixels, so have to tweak amount of detail.

@Aodh Hammerhelm-sai: Absolutely no rush, but since you offered:
Blædtunge's shield would be vert, a spearhead urinant or, within a bordure gules.
I crave your counsel, however, regarding the charge's tincture. Blædtunge is no noble, and his author certainly has no prideful cling to the spearhead being or as opposed to proper (although I suppose proper would end up looking argent, ha). Thoughts?

@Wamba_the_Fool,
Sai, I must consult my book of heraldry to decipher your request, kennit?
What shape of shield do you require?
Re: The Golden Hall II (OOC Thread)

by Wamba_the_Fool
Shape = Round, as any self-respecting son of Eorl would bear.
Apologies for the jargon, was not trying to be cute. [Round] Green background, in the center a spearhead with the point facing downward, red border
The color of the spearhead was, lo, these many moons ago, golden; I was asking whether you thought the natural/realistic colors would be more appropriate.
vert, a spearhead urinant or, within a bordure gules
The background (field) is always first.
Vert = green
If no positioning specified, the charge is assumed to be in the middle.
Urinant/Uriant = pointing down at the base (bottom). Technically head-downward I think, e.g. if the charge is a fish.
Or = gold
Bordure = I won't insult you. Traditionally one-sixth as wide as the shield itself.
Gules = red
Again, no rush. Hope the mastication-bone maintenance went well!

@Wamba_the_Fool ,
No offence taken, I bought a heraldry book ages ago, but never quite got to grips with it.
Your colours should work well on screen. Siggys are tiny so may need to tweak. Will draw up a full size version for you, hopefully tomorrow.
Tooth faerie was kind, new crown required. Was dreading all the COVID applied rules and precautions. They make everything so darned wearisome.

@Aodh Hammerhelm No rush on the sig pic, and I absolutely did not expect it to be nearly as detailed as the medallion Vorondir drew.

Also, I have some questions about your locations for the map so I'll be tagging you in the Histories OOC thread in a bit.

@Lailorn Shadowfox’s reply is up in LITM for you; apologies that I didn’t post it earlier when I replied to Eldrith as Allacan, but inspiration wasn’t flowing at the time, and I often struggle to switch from one PC’s mind-set to the another’s so close together. And then when inspiration did hit, apparently Shadowfox was clammering to have their life-story told and it all just kind of spilled onto the page; I hope you enjoy it
@Eldrith If it’s ok with you, I’d like to hold off on the Allacan/Eldrith reply in LITM until I know what state Alla is in when she leaves Riddermarket; I hope you don’t mind?

Oh
@Allafyrefleorhtlig as I always say not to worry, friend!

I'd rather you wait til you're properly inspired. I'm not sure when I'll get a reply back up for you, but it is on my list. I'm trying hard not to overextENT myself, but new threads keep enticing me.
For what its worth, I loved your post of Allacan at the memorial and also your Shadowfox post which brought tears to my eyes.
P.S. Is Allacan pronounced with a hard or soft 'c'? Been wondering for ages.

@Lailorn overextENT!

Oh trust me, I know that feeling. So many exciting stories to tell that I’m having to put some in my pocket to save for later. As long as neither of us feel pressured to rush for the other one, I think it’ll be a nice story that unfolds on its own
And regarding the pronunciation, quite honestly I’m not sure; I always imagined it as a hard ‘c’ but a soft one might sound more pleasant. It’s not even a proper rohirric name (I mercilessly butchered the protesting Old English language into translating Fyrefly into something that I liked so it’s possible an affront to linguists) and it
should really be Állàcan, but I didn’t want to make it more difficult for people to remember me or tag me, so
shrug

Been a bit scarce the last few days, had my dad back and forth to hospital this week but seems to be on the mend now. Tonight was going to be my catch up night but then had a 5 minute family visit turn into a 2 hour one so that all went out of the window. Maybe tomorrow!

Thread: Fields and Forests: viewtopic.php?f=12&t=283

Ama is mostly in Edoras these days, but she could have a convenient visit at her parents' house in the Eastfold. That'll be the nondescript homestead in the middle of no-where conveniately never placed on a map...

Or
@Thalionwen Hunigfolm is of course stationed in Aldburg with the cavalry.

@Amadhrill and to think I was going to ping you and tell you I messed up Walpurga's hand injury only to find you sidelined her! I mean you were completely right to do so but

@Frostbite I actually had a 5K long debate about what Ama should do with Walpurga, 'cause it sucks to be left out of your first battle, but when I started writing there really wasn't much of a choice for Ama

@Allafyrefleorhtlig - I am working on my tree puns.

Yes, same. I am trying not to go too crazy because that will lead to burn out eventually. Better to go slow and steady.
Thank you! I like to know how to pronounce names in my head and I was unsure of yours. I had been thinking it a hard 'c' too. As someone who can hardly ever be bothered with special characters and intentionally removed them from my own name, I appreciate your mention-able name.

That was probably very wise. I think Walpurga found her niche though, tossing random objects to passersby for overly dramatic action film moments.

@Elvheimdros I’d take the thyme to if I thought it wood make a difference, but as frond as I am of being helpful, I’m afraid my linguist skills are far too green to possibly nurture any kind of growth in another. Indeed, my skills in translation are so unbeleafably terrible that I doubt I would even plant even the slightest notion and I’m sure I wouldn’t leaf an impression. I’ll just have to settle for providing encourage-mint.

@Frostbite and
@Allafyrefleorhtlig: why'd you you take Éomund's badger kill?

(I honestly don't mind. It fits with his character that he accidentally stab a dead badger in an attempt at bravery. And he did have his eyes shut).
Also, he used a stave/staff, not a sword.

@Dimcairien Luiniel I didn’t mean to, I think things just moved so fast that the order of events got a bit confusing. I’ll clarify when I reply that Éomund got first strike in and clearly finished the badger off
before Allacan went overboard and caved it’s head in.

Fear not, I want to see all of the new cavalry recruits get their moment of heroism as much as anyone

@Allafyrefleorhtlig We're all good. Keeping track of things in a regular RP with a bunch of people is confusing, so I understand getting all mixed up in a battle scene where everything is moving very quickly. I'm glad he's finally done something worthy of the Cavalry though.
