If I were a dog,
No doubt I would eat a door.
Sorry, door. Sorry.

Indeed, I get it.
Sir Harold must've been frightened
With his people gone.

I can't answer @Dimcairien Luiniel or @Tarawen with a proper haiku, but after two days of good behaviour from Harold, we figured he'd be okay in the house for a few hours when we were at church yesterday. *facepalm* He chewed off a good heckin chunk of the door frame, and ate some window blinds too. The shelter did warn us he was an escape artist.

Bless the name Harold
No doubt he is living it
It means commander.
(But you maybe probably knew that if you picked out the name)

Harold Houdini
You should rename him, mayhap.
Or Grond would be good.

Harold Door-eater
An excellent aptronym
Let’s hope no repeats

"Aptronym" is cool--
but what distinguishes it
from an epithet?
Re: Haikuu

by Wamba_the_Fool
Because epithets
Are not necessarily
"Apt" for the person

Epithetical,
Aptronymical - fine words,
Quite fantastical.

All hail Sir Harold!
Mightiest of door eaters.
(A one-time honor.)

He was called Harry
Which we felt fitting, so we
Shall call him Harold. :smiley8:

Epithetical, Aptronymical -
Quite fine words, and right fantastical.
Palindromical, Topotropical -
Yes, good spiel; etymological.
Portmanteaulical, Dockelfhandrigal -
Wordsmiths can be plumb elastical.

Is this an haiku
I see above me? 'cos not,
It's long and clever

Per Sil's past haiku -
She posted it the sixteenth -
Other forms? Fair game!
For which I am grateful, 'cause whole truth be told,
I cannot that metrical device grab hold.
It's slipp'ry and slimy and wriggles around,
And my brain or hands cannot ride it to ground.
I hold the deficiency's in me alone,
And do not disparage those who like its tone,
But billferny to haikus - that's right, with an "s" -
And huzzah! for other poeticalness.

A wild mix of forms
In the humble haiku thread
All of a sudden

As for other forms
I have always been fond of
Silly limericks
---
Because of the limerick's parameters
It's easy to use lots of characters
If your poems are bold
The point-earning threshold
Is as easy to clear as a banister

Responsibility what?
Only nostalgia!
(also I would love to do limericks, maybe there should be a separate thread [that someone else should open because I'm lazy]?)

Was it for the food? Or pipes?
