@Bereth I just finished off from the last post you made in the shop during the Summer Festival. Sorry for leaving you hanging there, I went to post and the thread was closed and I forgot about the old market thread

A small kobold creature known to some as Grobby came rushing through the kingdom. It pushed something along in front of it, while shouting out enthusiastically "Broom Broom!" Only on closer inspection would anyone realise that it was not pushing a brush ahead of it, but instead a short, pretty woman whose dark hair was badly tousled by being used as a sweeping implement.
I decided to try and save from any further confusion like what happened with the Riddermarket and have gone through all the kingdom threads to identify any threads that can be locked, either because someone has clearly stated they are closed, they are obviously dated, or it is a competition that has finished with the last post 7+ days ago.
If competitors or festival event runners still had role-play to finish or prizes or awards to give out, my apologies and that is my fault; please accept my sincere apologies because I am only trying to save on confusion and by all means feel free to ask an admin to undo my error or alternatively feel free to use the Festival After-Party thread to finish any IC festival business.
@Aodh Hammerhelm I locked the 'What Age Vote' and Tub Race as they both appeared complete, @Thorin Firehelm I locked the old 'Horse and Rider Inn' pub as there is a new one open, @Thalionwen Hunigfolm I locked the Festival Fairgrounds because I could see you had already posted to say it was closed and there is a now a new Riddermarket open, @Shivased I locked the old Riddermarket to avoid any further confusion and also locked the Badger Chase as it appears complete and you said you were doing gifts in the After-Party, and @Taethowen I locked all the M. Meduseld threads.
Again, if that was wrong then please forgive my officiousness.
Special thank you to @Sil for kindly locking all the threads based on my request and, er... sorry Grobby messed up your hair.

@Wamba_the_Fool IC Taeth is probably not gonna show up in the new Horse & Rider Inn thread. A ton of stuff has happened IC since I last posted in the previous thread and I'm not quite sure how to reconcile it all and hop back in time LOL. But thankies.

@Wamba_the_Fool I would love to reply. LOL But am not entirely sure if this is a continuation of the previous pub or if we kind of jumped in timeline. Something kind of happened during the festival and Eldrith is in hiding and unsure whether she wants to be seen. Maybe some mental back editing is required and we leave Eldrith out of the scene so the reunion with @Bereth can happen first. I will try and jump in later. Lots of Timey whimey stuff. It's so GOOD to see you back!!

Guys, the pub thread could be a year before the festival :P There are no dates in either thread, so you are not locked in a "timeline" and cant continue to write there :P

If it's a year beforehand, Taeth hasn't even returned to Rohan yet, so I'm definitely out then LOL. But mostly I just don't think I can yank my thoughts back quite that far to the mindset IC Taeth was in at the time of the previous pub. When it closed, I'd honestly been about to excuse her from the activity there anyway, because of other reasons.

Lol what I am saying is, you can make it whatever timeline you want as there are no dates in either thread. If you dont have time, fair enough, just saying there is no real timeline in the pub :P *pokes Frost*

@Eldrith, @Taethowen & @Wamba_the_Fool , don't get too hung up on continuity, otherwise you'll land up like Aodh & @Eléowyn trying to account for their shifting from 4th to 3rd and back to 4th age. It took TEN years and a reread of TDT series to achieve.

@Wamba_the_Fool it's more that my timeline is *so fractured* already that I think tossing in one more thing might make my brain break LOLOL.

LOL it's more because the meeting started before the Campian, but sure.. i am just having to put the pub outside the timeline then. It's just weird in Eldrith;s personal tiemline to jump between emotions towards one person of shame and regret in one thread and Oh I am so happy you are back in another. I am out of practice timeline wise!

@Eldrith @Taethowen @Winddancer @Whoever_Else
No worries, no worries, I just had intended to have Wamba bust in at the end of Ber's song when the festival was just kicking off, so when I saw "It's still the old pub"
Eldrith wrote: ↑Tue Jul 21, 2020 8:03 pm
I reopened the Pub. It's still the old pub. Eldrith and @Amadhrill have nothing to do with this one yet. But there are.. plans.
I took it as a
continuation of the old pub and am JUST now as I write this realizing that it could/should have been read as the old
location/building.
Sometimes you make the jokes, sometimes you
are the joke, knowwattimean?
Well if there's some sort of shimmery fading-out happening in the background I reckon the old Fool won't notice it, for the moment anyway.

@Wamba_the_Fool And we can keep it kind of vague. I mean.. there's no reason, as Winddancer said, to put on exact timeline on when. It's only in relation to the Campian that it matters, because of Bereth. But if we just.. fade Eldrith out.. then the same scene can exactly continue, and Eldrith will be there in a few more posts in the new timeline! If that makes sense?

I think it was more that it could be interpreted either way, LOL. Although unlike @Winddancer I've always felt that pubs are... less wibbly-wobbly with timelines, because the purpose of them is to interact with the other characters there. So I may even post later today and wrap up the scene where Taeth was previously involved. She had just come back from a long, long journey and would like to rest, methinks.

@Allafyrefleorhtlig hey before you start attacking people about their posts, please be aware that there likely has been some discussion beforehand. I'm not a complete idiot believe it or not. Shivased and I had been thoroughly discussing our Riddermarket posts for a while beforehand. And also the solution was already determined, so I really don't appreciate you telling me how to run my stories. For what it is worth, Rowena and Shivased made an agreement to use Rhainnyn to help gather information on other cohorts.

@Rowena Ellenweorc My apologies, I hadn’t intended to cause offence at all. My intention was to try and help players wrap up unfinished storylines in the old Riddermarket which closed so abruptly without any warning, but I appreciate that both yourself and others have replied to say this was not necessary so perhaps I was worrying unnecessarily. I did not intend to involve myself in someone else’s story and had only meant to help, but in future I will of course remember that players know what they are doing and don’t need assistance or intervention. I think I was just too keen to ‘help’ and ‘be helpful’ when it wasn’t necessary, so apologies (possibly because I was having a major anxiety-episode day that day, which absolutely isn’t an excuse, just a self-reflection).
Regarding my god-moding feedback; I could not possibly know about any off plaza communication between you and Shiva and there was no reference to it in your post. I only saw what someone not party to your off-plaza communication would see, which to an objective observer’s eye appeared to be bordering on godmoding. Obviously if I misunderstood the situation then I am sincerely sorry.
I think personally I am going to try and ensure that if I do have someone’s permission to take control of a scene (or their permission to godmode their character for particular outcome) then I am going to put a little OOC comment in the post to save others from being concerned or confused. It’s something I am trying to be better at myself, and I know Taeth and Frost have been doing this a lot recently and are a great example. Alternatively, I’m trying to acknowledge in an OOC comment when I am maybe pushing a little godmoding and explaining why to help people realise when I maybe am/am not acting without permission (like my acknowledgment in the recent DR post trying to make sure Rowena received all the love she deserved for her time as Marshal; again I hope you didn’t mind that).
I’m just worried that if there is no OOC comment then people may presume it was done without consent. And because we have brand new players joining and I want to set a positive example for them. It’s something I am going to try and be better at personally. But I suspect I am also getting overly anxious about it because of my personal health issues so I deeply regret if I appear to be being bossy or overly officious.
Also, I suspect the downside of off-plaza communication like Facebook chat and Discord is that other people cannot always see all the really wonderful collaborative planning and supportive communication that goes on in the background to help run cohesive and creative stories. I real lot love that the NuPlaza has become a place where people can work together to tell stories. I think for my part I am going to try and include more of it on plaza whenever I can, so that everyone can see it is collaborative storytelling. And also so that new players can see some of how the magic works. But that is my own personal approach and obviously not something other people have to do if they don’t want to.
