She opened her mouth to say something else, but seemed to reconsider. Instead, she pressed her lips together again and crossed her arms lightly. She took a moment to think about how he had bothered to clean up. Gladhron, bothering to clean up, not only after himself but also others? Gwestion might not even believe it even if she swore it was true! But it was undeniable that Gladhron had done exactly that. Even if he had stayed behind… he had made himself useful. While feeling like absolute crap. She guessed that meant he had changed more in the past few years than she’d realized. Maybe Gwestion had drilled his older brother into some new manners? “Well,” she finally said, before pausing again. It was just so… unexpected. “Thank you.” She uncrossed her arms again. “Very considerate.”
He smiled slightly when she finally decided on a simple thank you. “You’re welcome.” He answered quietly, wondering if it had all gone over her head… again. Well… whatever. He wasn’t giving up. For the moment, he flashed a little grin. “Just don’t tell Gwestion,” He added, joking. “He might start expecting me to do that for him.” Surely, that would get her thinking? That he would do the dishes for her, but not for his own brother, that said something, right?
She assessed his expression as she thought about his words. So it hadn’t been Gwestion who’d managed to instill a new habit? Because he basically just said he didn’t do this around his brother? But Gladhron’s tone had been jesting. The man did like to joke around - that was nothing new. Then again, it wouldn’t be the first thing Gladhron had hidden from Gwestion, either. She thought back to their conversation at headquarters. Where Gladhron had said something so very similar. About Gwestion not knowing he noticed more than he let on, either. Arnyn felt a little sad about that, but she figured she’d better not say anything. She found it difficult to joke about, too, so she didn’t. Because why wouldn’t Gladhron want his brother, whom he loved, to know such things about him? Simply so he could avoid expectations?
She almost laughed darkly, given that she was dreading all the expectations people had of her, beyond the walls of her house. Maybe, just maybe, Gladhron was onto something. Be all that as it may, he was asking her not to tell Gwestion - and it was an easy secret to keep. She had asked Gladhron to keep much bigger ones. “Alright,” she agreed quietly.
He smiled faintly in relief, quite glad she was willing keep this from Gwestion, even if he was mostly joking about that. Once she agreed, he glanced around to check if there was anything else needing to be done. “Well. Do I need to tidy up any further, or are we good to go get break/lunch?” He asked, unsure how he looked since he hadn’t taken a look in a mirror or anything.
She blinked. “I– I don’t know about that,” she mumbled, before clearing her throat. “Besides, I think I had better either stay here, or go to headquarters,” she added. “After last night, I’m expecting a summons.”
“Summons?” He blinked in surprise at that, puzzled at what she might mean by that. Who would be summoning her? What for? He frowned slightly as he tried to figure that out, but decided to just ask. “Summoned.. Where?” He paused. “If you don’t mind me asking… what exactly happened, last night?” He wondered. “I mean, whatever Gwestion and Tercen needed you for.” He explained. “I uh, sort of missed whatever they came to tell you.”
She averted her eyes. “Summoned to the Citadel. Ava and… Gwandhyra… got into a bit of an altercation at the theatre, after we left. They had words. Your friend pulled out a weapon. Tercen got the guards involved. They needed me to clear it up at their headquarters.”
Gladhron listened, his eyes widening a bit at the drama that occurred. “An altercation?” He frowned. “Wait, a weapon?” He was a little shocked. Dom, pulling a weapon? “Was anyone hurt?” He had to ask, trying to get a better picture of this, and feeling quite puzzled about it all.
Had anyone gotten hurt? She almost scoffed, or breathed out a hollow kind of laugh. “No one got hurt at the theatre,” she reassured him.
Gladhron nodded slowly, and was about to say ‘good’ when he caught the ‘at the theater’ and hesitated. “What about elsewhere?” He had to check, uncertain if she was being evasive. Because that was exactly the sort of thing Gwestion might pull to evade a question… and he was aware that they had several similarities between them.
“It was just words,” she told him, forcing herself to look at him instead of giving herself away by not meeting his gaze. “I made sure everyone got out of there.” That much, she had done, at least. Not that she was likely to get much gratitude for it from any of the parties involved.
