@Saranna,
We can work it out in Undertowers. No need to feud over readers. We can divide the tower.
Happy Election Day!

Feel a tad nostalgic. Back in 1997 the UK Labour Party won an election after 18 years in opposition. I felt that I'd seen it through but, after the last 18 years, Britian was dead to me. I remember the next morning, everyone out and about and smiling at each other for the first time in years. It felt good, but I'd had enough. A week later I'd left the country and have never lived there since. Here is a song from my youth, for purely nostalgic reasons.

@Chrysophylax Dives It was indeed a happy election day.
I remember that in the past if anyone of the Old Plaza wanted to know what I was listening to, my stock reply was, and would still be; TINNITUS. I never got a word of sympathy though.

I need to see Spinal Tap again. This song might be good as the Rohan Post Office theme song.

Feel like I've subjected the few of you left to enough punk. But this video is just so gorgeous. I had a punk friend from Wales many years ago, who was tbh a sanctimonious bore. He was a hardcore vegan and apt to lecture anyone with leather shoes or what have you. But he loved this song and one could tie him up in knots asking him about the line 'I killed a cat' - I swear, he limned the depths of literary criticism in his tortured arguments about irony that attempted to avoid staring in the face what the line of the song obviously meant, namely that his hero Sid had killed a cat.
Sid Vicious - My Way
To think, I killed a cat
And may I say, not in a gay way
Oh no, oh no not me
I did it my way

Recalling my Welsh friend, his was the first dog that I struck up a good relationship with. The dog was much better fun than the human. But my punk friend should take the credit for naming the dog, Sid.

Hi all,
I'm mostly listening to children asking me for food.
Musically, I'm listening to whichever random songs pop into my head, this week I listened to Johnny Flynn, Martha Tilston and Sandy Denny.

They do ask for food far too often!VelvetineZone wrote: ↑Tue Aug 20, 2024 2:01 pm Hi all,

I do like Sandy Denny. Here is a LotR song that she sings on. Led Zeppelin - Battle of Evermore
Btw, VelvetineZone if you need anything explained like how to do links or how to get an icon (if you want one) do ask.
Eat earth. Dig deep. Drink water.
I have that song on an old mixtape.
I have tried to change my icon from profile and can't figure it out. I haven't tried adding links yet.

Yay. I'm not a candle anymore. I finally figured out I had to choose a kingdom. Hard to choose between Fangorn and Lothlorien but went for Fangorn.
Hi @VelvetineZone! It is good to see you again! I like Concerning Hobbits. It sure brings back memories of the movie way back in 2001.
I am partial to this chap, Colin Rudd. He is a little eccentric, but hearing him sing of Durin makes me smile. He has other renditions of songs from The Lord of The Rings. Check him out if you have a moment.

Hi @Drifa, I love Concerning Hobbits, such an evocative piece of music.
I have been listening to Colin Rudd's version of Beren and Tinuviel https://youtu.be/JtAIvup6QOU?si=OkYhH5xcjGFprtJG for years but not listened to anything else by him, I'll check that one out when my household are awake, thanks.

Just bumped into this song. The Damned were the best live group I ever saw, and this song their best song to dance to. This is a TV performance but still gives a sense of the wonders of being in that press.

Thank you for the kind welcome @Chrysophylax Dives and for obliterating my badger.
O! Was that your badger, @VelvetineZone? I am so sorry. I thought that you were in danger from a wild animal with a sword, and was acting with my usual chivalry. Please convey my apologies to your badger, or at least any remaining bits of brain that you feel might be responsive.
Here to make it up to you is a most excellent music video that I was very into watching with the Goblin child one year ago. I always felt it was an RP kind of song.

Hadn't seen that before @Chrysophylax Dives , hysterical, love it.
Also enjoyed Song of Durin thanks @Drifa!
That badger and I were about to have a marvellous, magical adventure together, hobbit and woodland creature in perfect harmony, unless I'd horribly misjudged it and in fact was saved by your swift thinking chivalry.

Plenty more badgers in the woods, @VelvetineZone. Found this song.

You know, if you want to have a badger adventure you can just start a badger thread and write.

No I think I've got badgers out of my system now.
It showed the fun of collaborative writing: your co-writers, I mean fellow hobbits, taking the narrative in funny directions.

Love Ace of Spades especially when they play it in The Young Ones.

Mostly I listen to metal music, but since I'm a Lord of the Rings fan I like to listen to some soundtrack, which I'm currently learning to play on the piano
Hello Taurendir, nice to read you. Can you give a youtube link to an example of the metal music you like? There are not so many of us here and we get bored with each other's music choices.
