Hey Fuin- not trying to stalk you across the plaza I swear :googly: The discord is "unofficial" in that the admin team have no control over it, it was independently and kindly created by Aduchil, who administers it with a few other members he's delegated to! We don't have a permalink in the interest of preventing random non-plaza people from joining willy nilly, but I left you a temporary invite link in the RP request form thread!

Also just going to add that it is unlikely we will be getting PM's as it is a nightmare when it comes to data protection and keeping underages safe. Don't think it was a complete no, but highly unlikely. Discord is a way around that for now :)

Hmm true PM's are def a security issue for minors makes me a bit sad was way easier to do several games with oms than without

Anyways why I'm here I ha e another suggestion

The renaming if a section to be more inclusive I propose tv and fill be renamed media adaptions

This would also allow for discussion of the play, and music that is def influenced by Tolkien example :black blade by Blue oyster cult discussing if it's based around Turin or not etc

I will leave it up to @Narv if he wants to rename it, but by all means go ahead and discuss those things there. No one is gonna smack you for it ;)

Hi again, Admins

Just noticed I've made a double/dupe post in Riddermark's current Life in the Mark thread. Second post was just meant to be tags...

I'm wondering if it's possible to add the option of posting a poll in a thread which has already been created? Like for example if a thread runner wanted to get opinions and votes on something mid-thread, they could just add a poll to a new post. At the moment it looks to me like you can only create a poll when creating a new thread?

I'm pretty sure that's the case and there's not an easy way to change it to add a poll mid thread, but let's get @Zôrzimril or/and @Narv in here to confirm or deny.

@Dwim - while we can't add polls to posts mid-thread, OPs can be edited by the thread maker or an admin to add a poll at the top at any time.

hey admin friends! I'm not sure if this is something you are cool with doing but Ears made a great suggestion to rename this thread so it is more inviting to those who are behind to come discuss. Since @Mojo is TR and has been away I thought I'd ask here.

If you are happy to rename that one, can you also change this one to LOTR Read-Along Book I? If not that's fine but thought I'd ask.

I am uhhh back to be a pest about NuLibrary

Is there ANY chance of having it made into a subforum of the Lore area? I ask this because we have 3 threads at the moment - of which One could be broken down into two And allow for a bit neater keeping of the actual Quote banks so that all the gathering could be in it's own thread. (which would bring us to 4 threads)

Also Sil had an idea of a game to help build up the Quote banks which I think sounds fun but am not sure that having a 4th thread in Lore for the purpose of this Quote game seems like I'm flooding the Lore section with a heck of a lot of threads all on the same more or less thing despite being needed. I was also thinking about seeing if people wanted to illustrate any of the quotes in question in the form of different contest (mostly the hobbit atm as it has the most quotes available atm) which would be... yet another thread though I suppose it could live in the CoLP

@Fuin Elda We have decided to do it the democractic way! Let the people speak :D In other words, making a poll to see how many want a subforum for it.

One tiny non-urgent suggestion - is it possible/a good idea to place the email address for the admins and Narv's forthcoming address on The Team page so it is easily accessible (or somewhere else easily visible to members if you have a better idea in mind)?

I know the "Contact Us" is at the bottom, too, but this way both contact methods will be visible in one place. If I have legit missed it being listed somewhere already, please just ignore me, I just haven't really seen it anywhere besides within individual threads.

I approve of Lailyn's suggestion that Direct contact methods for the main team AND direct to narv only should be on the Team Page for certain Having things all in one place is an excellent idea and that is a place people will generally look for something like that Sort of having the contact us form have a drop down option for EMAIL Narv Email the Admins. (Which is also doable I am sure)

@Lailyn - Consolidating all the contact info once it's available into one spot is a great idea!

The "The Team" and "Contact Us" pages are phpbb built-ins and rely on templates that I'm pretty sure are best not modified, so it's not quite as simple as dropping a link to an email onto those pages - but we can certainly figure out a way to consolidate contact info into one place for ease of use. Thanks for bringing this up!

I'm thinking maybe a section at the top of "Contact Us" that lists the admin email, the Narv email, and the anonymous report form might work. And then the existing auto-email thing would just be under that with the clarification that that email goes to the whole admin team. Like Tara said those builtin pages aren't terribly customizeable (and tweaking them too much is risky for long-term updateability reasons), but I think just adding a section at the top would be relatively clean. Thoughts on that?

Ah had a funny feeling it might harder than I thought code-wise.

Adding the anonymous report form is a good idea. I think wherever you are able to put it in an easy to code, easy to find spot is fine! Top of the Contact Us page probably makes more sense than The Team if do-able.

Is there a setting possibly available in which the OP stays at the top on all subsequent pages?

Sorry for the double post, but also how about a "is usually known as" section in a profile, so irregularly active hobbits like me can work out who everyone is?

(also, because I'm ultimate levels of persnickety, any chance we can get an actual Tolkien quote on the Shire's banner in place of the movie quote?)

The admins put the former name when they change it, so you can see it in the name change thread. @Tarawen anything else that can be done?

As for the quote, make a poll in your kingdom of what you guys want instead and we will put the winner up <3

Ahh brilliant, thanks Winddy, I hadn't thought of checking the name change thread. that'll do.

Thank you for answering all my questions and my apologies I didn't check for an earlier answer to my first one. I will also get a poll going once I get some potential options together.
