Admin Election Results!

Hi all and thanks once again for another smooth election round! It was great to see a full slate of nominees and lots of people voting & participating. The Google Sheet has officially been tallied, offers sent & confirmed, and I am happy to announce our admin crew for the next 6 months, in alphabetical order:

Lailyn
Moriel
Nessa Saelind
Tarawen

As you see, the results are a little more eventful than last time around, and we're welcoming two new faces to the crew: Lail and Nessa! Both received very broad support from members and I think we will continue to be in great hands with these two joining the team. So, welcome to you both!

Of course the other side of the admin-turnover coin is that 2 awesome admins, Winddancer and Sil, will be swapping the fancy Elf (?) / dragon faces for regular ol icons and hopping into member mode come July. This was a super close election this time around, with a separation of only a few vote points among the top 6 or so candidates, so in no way were the results any kind of judgment of their tenures, which have been widely acclaimed. One of the hoped-for advantages of this rotation system of ours is that there's no need for a break from adminship to be any more permanent than an admin term itself - I'm looking forward to both of these wonderful souls continuing to be a huge part of what makes this site what it is, and I wouldn't be at all surprised to be welcoming them back into the great mundanity of adminship again before long should they wish that. But for now, we say thank you to these two titans of Plaza Old and Nu, and we unleash them to wreak havoc once more upon Middle-Earth, unbound at last by the chains of dignity that have held back their true minion ways. or something like that. Thank you Winddy and Sil, we love you v much

So let's all welcome back our new and returning admins, and thank our outgoing ones for everything they've given to this place so far!

(I am also interested, like last time, in getting people's opinions about how the process went. I'm thinking let's keep this thread just for the good vibes and well wishes, and please either 1) send me a message at lotrplazaelection (at) gmail (dot) com with any private feedback, or 2) post in the 'Election Questions & Discussions' thread for any public discussions you'd like to start about the process, democracy, plaza, life, etc. etc.). Sil and Windy, you have been nothing short of INCREDIBLE as admins and teammates for the last year!! I'll sorely miss working with you in that capacity, but look forward to continuing to play with you on the Plaza and hope you enjoy a well-earned break

Thank you for having faith in me. I honestly thought every candidate would make a wonderful admin and I'm honored to even have been in their company. I feel like I have enormous shoes to fill and I will strive to do my best for all of you!

Windy and Sil, you two are so fantastic. I have so much respect for you both as people, members and admins. I hope you enjoy kicking up your feet and just getting to have fun and write more stories! Thank you so much for everything you have done for us all in your time as admins. <3

Just wanted to drop by to firstly thank Windy and Sil for all of your incredible hard work over the past year (and longer!). You two are both absolutely awesome people, and I know you've worked unbelievably hard behind the scenes to take such good care of this special lil home of ours. Thank you from the bottom of my heart! (and I promise this was not written to avoid being killed by minions!!).

Secondly, I wanted to wish an enormous congratulations to the newly/re-elected admin team. Tara, Moriel, Lail, Nessa - you guys are all brilliant, and I know the plaza continues to be in a wonderfully safe sets of hands with you all. Particular shout-out to the newbies on the team, Lail and Nessa - I know you will both be utterly fantastic - congratulations!!

Finally, big thanks to Narv for once again providing us with another example of a fantastically smooth and well-run slice of the ole democracy-pie.

First of all congratulations to Moriel and Tara for being reelected as admins! You are very amaze and I cannot wait to admin with you

Sil you were the most amazing Sun Goose that ever goosed an admin position, Windy you are always the bestestest Lady Dragon and I loved every minute when you harassed people to vote for MoM it was a beauty to watch I hope the two of you get to enjoy your vacation, because I am sure a day will come when where you will once again pick up your admin mantle.

Lail congratulations! I am so happy that we're going to be together in this mission, quest, greatest adventure admin thing


And to all of you wonderful, crazy, lovely people - thank you so much from the bottom of my heart! I mean you're totally bonkers, choosing a medieval clown as your admin but in all seriousness, I have some big shoes to fill and I will try my hardest to be a good admin and be there for all of you when you need me for something that isn't IT related you got 3 other admins for that, you don't need this clown anywhere near tech stuff

Huge congratulations to @Nessa Saelind and @Lailyn! I am delighted to see you coming on board to the admin team - I have a great deal of confidence in you both and I’m really excited to see what fresh ideas you bring.

Congratulations and thanks also to @Moriel and @Tarawen! You guys are the best team mates and I know you’ll make a great group of four. Thanks for all the work you put in and which I know you will continue to do, but also for all the good times and for your friendship. You both bring so much to the team in different ways and you are huge assets to the plaza.

And a huge, huge thanks and tribute to my favourite dragon @Winddancer, who has done so much behind the scenes - tirelessly monitoring the emails and awarding tribute and a dozen other little tiny things as well as the more obvious and visible stuff. I barely knew you except for a notorious horror of Mordor before we started our adminship together and I can now confirm that as well as being a dreadful and terrifying wraith she is also the sweetest person, slow to judge and quick to listen, always ready to help and try and solve a problem.

And thanks plaza members, for being so much fun and letting me stay in post as long as I have! I must say I am looking forward to being unshackled from @Narv’s admin troll cave where we are only permitted to eat weevilly peanuts and are obliged to spend an hour a day listening to his poetry, which doesn’t even rhyme. (Nessa and Lail this is definitely a joke and also brush up on your haiku.) I am full of plans for enjoying being a NKR by changing kingdom every five minutes, failing the Halls of Knowledge tests I wrote myself, looking forward to being surprised at Halloween and maybe even possibly receiving trib for the first time ever

Huge congratulations to @Moriel, @Nessa Saelind, and @Lailyn! I'm so excited to work with you three and our benevolent creator troll in the coming months.

@Winddancer and @YggdraSil - I can't adequately articulate just how incredible you both have been in your admin roles. I've learned so much from you and, more importantly, have gained and grown wonderful friendships with you two over the last year. I value and appreciate you both so very much and am excited to continue playing together on site and trying to keep up with Sil's name changes. Maybe I'll even submit a character for Windy to torture.

I'm honestly floored to have been elected again and will do my utmost this term, as always, to keep the code safe and the Plaza a welcoming place for all to enjoy. Thank you to all who participated in the election - whether by nominating, voting, or presenting yourselves as candidates. It's amazing to see the continued community investment in this weird and amazing corner of the internet.
