The penultimate ARPY award has been presented! One more to go and we can head to the party part of this ceremony.

I would like to take this opportunity to thank all you fine folks who volunteered (or were pressed into service because we're most benevolent feudal lords and we take care of the 3rd estate ) to do the award presentations! All of them were very amazing and uniquely you and I loved all of them. Thank you once again for helping us make this possible! I hope you had fun playing your chosen canon characters and that you will continue to enjoy the party and be as creative as you can be.

Congratulations to all of our winners, I did congratulate some here, some on Discord! Keep doing what you're doing, you are very amaze and awesome! And go pick up your awards dam it!

Hello I have a few notes!

1. I'm off camping for the weekend (well Sun/Mon anyway) in search of birds so I'm leaving Merry in the very capable hands of @Nessa Saelind again in case things move as quickly as they have been. She has my permission to do anything except imbibe in the shrooms (as hinted in my post).

Worry yea not @Lailyn Merry and Pippin will be the exemplary and responsible adult hobbits, giving out sage life advice and generally being role models for the future generations What a concept, dear reader, what a concept!

Most likely on Sunday evening (GMT+1) there will be a GM announcement in which the award presentation part of the ceremony will officially end and the party part will begin. We will be moving to the Hall of Fire for the dancing and other merrymaking shenanigans. In addition to everyone moving, I'll collect the uncollected ARPY awards and the statuettes will from Sunday going forward be located IC in a display cabinet. They will be enchanted so only the winners can claim them, have no fear So if you couldn't write your acceptance speech and take your prise you will still be able to do so, albeit in a different room, and it will allow the party to move forward and the rest of the folks to carry on.

I had @Nessa Saelind laughing so I hoped somebody would tell me they found my next post just as amusing, @YggdraSil so mission accomplished ! Glad you enjoyed it. Breaking the Fourth Wall seems to come to me easier than my usual serious work, strangely .

The silliness of The Last Homely House Helpdesk and The Grey Mountains might become Cottage threads of mine, I've been musing on it. Cried tears of laughter writing the Customer Service Craziness, Racist Aewrusca , frustrated Sapphirus, and Barababosh the Hobgoblin College Grad . Yes...don't be surprised if Sapphirus and Dimmtþruma - his mate, @Annúnfalas ' dragon - try to fit in the Hall of Fire instead of staring balefully at everyone through a window, lol; I already have something planned just jn case they endeavor . For all those awaiting Sapphirus in AoA, Free RPs, and the upcoming War of the White Gem RPG, I promise (and I'm sure so would Annúnfalas) Sapphirus and Dimmtþruma are not that silly in serious Plaza RP but it was a joy to finally write him and coordinate with Annúnfalas for their crazy ARPYS antics .

Also, "Tavari's Birch" was funny. Nessa gave me the "birch" minced oath idea on Discord

@Tharmáras - I'm with @YggdraSil here. I'm so glad to see you showing us your quirky side and just rolling with it. We tend to write such serious stories with our characters and honestly from time to time we need to get out of that mind frame and just embrace the silliness and roll with it. It's like a palate cleanse.

Hi, hello folks *waves*

Just wanted to let you know that I'll be a bit quiet on the ARPY RP (ha! see what I did there ) front because this week school officially ends in Croatia and that means welcome to Looneyville at work - the thing that pays my internet and rent so all the cray-cray characters in my head can live rent-free and come out to play

You lot keep enjoying the party, I shall paracrash at some point and besides my two wonderful co-runners are there to guide you {to the nearest wine fountain } if needed.

Just gonna pop in here real quick, since I figure this was the best place to share this brilliant idea/late night brain fart. What if, for the next ARPYS presentation, we divide the "Best Character" award into dramatic/comedy, as has been done with posts, or good/evil? This, to me, casts a wider net on the kinds of writing produced here and gives a chance for characters to shine more in their own right field rather than all lumped together.

As I said this might be a horrid, dumb idea but dumb as it might be, some brighter minds than mine might be able to parse out a solution or more solid plan

@cHa0s BrO This is something that most certainly can be done - we did use to have best Villain but it was cut out on grounds of we didn't know how many nominations we would get so we wanted to make sure we would have enough and I think (speaking for myself only but I am 90% sure the others will agree) that Best Villain should absolutely be making a return as it is one that most certainly can be brought back without the issue of gender dictating who can be nominated! And would then allow for 3 different characters to shine instead of two with Canon and over all Character

Although personally, I'm not of fan of having a separate Best Villains category, because 1) villains are characters too! 2) what about morally grey characters? However, if folks are keen on having a separate Best Villain category I say go forth and write those evil characters so we have at least 10 to choose from

Also @cHa0s BrO - having Best comedic/dramatic/good/evil/whatevz character subcategories is not a bad idea. I think it will require thinking about how to logistically sort that, but there's plenty of time till January 1st 2022

in humorous response: 1) villains are better characters, and canon characters get their own category so... 2) morally grey is still goody two shoes so they belong in the "good guy" category

and also you know I have like 50 evil characters right, I could fill a roster based around those with Frost associations alone

The way your character list keeps growing @cHa0s BrO we'll need to divide the character categories into: Best Character/Villain/Whatevz played by Frost, Best Character/Villain/Whatevz played by people who are not Frost

But joking aside, if anyone has any suggestions for categories; e.g. should we add a new category, expand on an old one, or remove something let us know. You, the people, are the ones doing the heavy lifting, the Triumvirate just organises things, so your suggestions are more than welcome. You know whose inbox is a saloon by now

I think the consensus so far is "yes to a new category" and @cHaOs tOaD's idea of letting the nominator chose which category to put said character in is sheer brilliance, could lead to some fun characters in both

Greetings everyone,

I just wanted to apologize for failing to post for this celebratory thread thus far. Things have come up for me that have demanded nearly all of my time and even with the limited amount I do have to write, I simply no longer have the desire to post for this storyline/event anymore. After taking a look at the creative and ethical direction of this thread I have concluded that it is simply not the RP for me.

This site is full of amazing, incredibly talented writers and I feel very humbled and honored that you count me among their number. There were a ton of good posts in that category too!
