Nice! Thanks for the answers! Paths of Eriador! That was the old thread!
Its past midnight here in Oz so will work on my character presentations this week. I have a lot of them on RP Repository so should be fairly easy to bring ones I'll use over here.

I'll get my Osdolen update happening tomorrow or Tuesday so your Ranger can enter a very troubling situation 😉. Cheers 🍻!

I'll give it a look and do some backreading as well.

I attempted to use the alignment BBC in my character profiles but it didn't appear to work.

@Hanasian

Pretty sure the only codes for alignment are center and justify... Anyways I read through your character profile for Cailiawyn and got rather excited reading that she was a blacksmith. And also very curious if you'd like to play in the Tingdain (even as a guest coming through to fix your own weapons since I know you aren't a normal denizen of the Valley itself) it's open to all races etc.

I'll admit I infuse it with RL smith info since I come from a family that does metal working (welding now but my Uncle use to have a full old fashion coal smithy on his farm before he sold it) and I have done some but coal is expensive and hard to get where I live lol. So you get both fantasy and RL smithy info/Rping!

Behold Nessa has found WAY more out than I have but I am a lazy bugger that is happy with center and left align.

Thanks for letting me know that I may use it in the future for fancy dancy posts

Cailiawen is a character a friend of mine created some years back. We were talking about Arnor and the fractured kingdoms and doing some Middle Earlth RP while watching 'A Knight's Tale', and she developed Cailiawen with some of 'Kate' weaved in. She passed on her half-dozen characters to me when she left roleplaying, and I liked the Rhuadurian aspect of the character. The smithing aspect was more background, but it could be developed more I think.

Thanks for this. I was attempting to align an image left or right by this code: {img align=right] {img align=left]which shifts the image to the right and the text will appear to the left of the inage. I got used to that on another site. Makes for nice character pages.

So was thinking about starting an Tingdain off shoot RPG and was wondering if any one would be interested?

Basics of my thoughts are
1. Short plot over all (so a very light RP but with fighting and adventure that hopefully doesn't take more than 6 months over all - cause this is NuPlaza things are slowish)
2. PROBABLY some fighting involved so all sorts of players would be welcome people that wanna be good guys, rangers, possibly members of Ost Halatir? (Gonna talk with @Tharmáras and @Moriel about those on discord IF there is interest)
3. NO smithing knowledge/activity needed just adventuring.

Of course if someone has something they absolutely want to see in it and want to play I'm open to suggestions for it.

Something like A Quest for Metal RPG like yesteryear 😁? I'm down, whatever it may be ⚘⚔🔨!

I can use a Ranger from Fort Gloaming, one of the grown children of my leaders which I need to show there. I encourage any Ranger or a character from the elven hosts to participate. I might have Calselda and Aewrusca Mordagnir along for Halcyon Guard and healer representation 🤗.

Yes something like A Quest of Metal of yesteryear though a bit more condensed in the traveling portions. I have an idea of what I'd like to see happen at the mine in terms of stuff happening which is a bit different than the original and hopefully with enough stuff that people will enjoy it. And yes Rangers absolutely would be welcome as would be healers! :headbang:

@Rune Eisahn Saw your character sheet for Rune! Looks like a fun character the image issue is one I've figured out thanks to imgur being terrible for how they create their links... You need to personally add either .jpg .gif or .png to the END of the link you are given (depending on what it is depends on the ending you need to add) as otherwise it won't work with the image tags. Hope that helps!

Hey guys, can I join the Rivendell's army? In this Mordor army I'm in the middle ranks. Can I join in a corresponding rank here too?

Hey @Draugän Nuruhuinë! Were you ever a member of the Rivendell army before? If not, probably you'll end up RPing your way into Ost-Halatir to join as an Aphador (first rank); I think @Tharmáras is currently in the hall as Aig (the boss), while I'm out on a mission right now as Tavari (second in command). If you do have an old character that was part of the guard in the past, you could ask to be reinstated!

Potentially if you have a well thought out character you want to join with that could plausibly be a higher rank than Aphador due to prior or continuing service, that might work, but let's let Aig (Tharmáras who I tagged above) weigh in on that before you post in the thread! If you do have such a character and want to go ahead and describe them here in the OOC so that's there for Aig when he sees this, that would be great

Thank you for you interest @Draugän Nuruhuinë ! As @Moriel / Tavari said let me know your character history so we can determine a rank for him/her. I rather have Aigronding, the High Captain, being alone now at the fortress in the Angle/Rhudaur, because something important for a growing storyline is about to happen where he is. I'd like your character to be with Aigronding's daughter - Calselda, written by me - and her team in the Misty Mountains. You can read through the posts I've made with Fuin and Annúnfalas  . Let me give you a very brief(?) synopsis of what's happened; honestly, everything I'm about to say is necessary to mention and I'm being a down-to-earth as I can so you can hop in.

Calselda's company (comprising soldiers from Imladris and Lothlórien and Mirkwood) were on a mapping journey and sought shelter from the inclement weather. They discovered a lair of Orcs inside a cave. Just as they were battling the goblins, forces from the Lindon Guard scouting the region appeared and are helping out. There are 4 Orcs remaining and 1 Hobgoblin mentioned by Annúnfalas in her latest post. That's really all you need to know to begin writing. You can kill two Orcs and I'll have my characters finish the rest in my next update :fence: . I was planning to get to Ost-Halatir after a reply to Ages of Arda, Northern Fiefdoms (for Isolde) in Gondor, and the Arpy Ceremony. So there's still a bit of time for you to post before I do...so let's plot immediately and get you RP'ing there, friend!

I want us descending deeper in the cave disguised as Orcs by the Eldarin magic of High Elves written by Fuin and I (think Finrod masking himself, Beren, and their Elven companions in The Silmarillion / Lay of Leithian with his Calaquendi power). We will discover one of the many Orc strongholds in the Misty Mountains Tolkien writes about...and a couple surprises which we'll have to escape from once our identities are realized (like in The Silmarillion / Lay of Leithian) and warn Aigronding about the plans we've learned (which Gellam, Moriel's character leading a mission south of us presently, will also be aware of soon in his quest). *Spoils everything because he feel like people should know by now where I'm going with the current Halatir stories*

Image

I'm needing both Calselda's mission and Gellam's to end simultaneously because each venture leads into War of the White Gem RPG involving Hobgoblins of the Misty Mountains, Dragons of the North, and some bad Beornings (mentioned in The Hobbit, as well as certain white gems...). Once we're on the cusp of those missions ending, Moriel and I will begin plotting the War of the White Gem RPG together. I'm hoping that RPG will launch sometime in June. I want to make sure Moriel's finals are over :grouphug: :smooch: .

Ooooh, thanks for the advice @Fuin Elda ! It worked perfectly and now, everyone can see Rune without jumping through a digital middle-man

Oh, speaking of Rune, I was planning on starting the first of what I hope to be several short tales in the Lone Lands and Bree-Land free RP threads, beginning with Rune's first encounter with Elves (he's never been to the north/west and is about as unaware of the Elves and their lore as a newborn). Would anyone like to participate/volunteer to be the first Elf/Elves he'll ever meet? Oh, it'll be great since, like a lot of awesome things, it'll have d r a m a

Hey @Tharmáras and @Moriel! A bit about my character, he's a teenage elf who is eager to learn more about the world. So he's up for adventures and tends to dive headfirst into the fight, probably bringing in more danger than necessary. He's already a skilled huntsman, and knows how to wield the bow and a short sword. He's also a Moriquendi from Mirkwood-Dorwinion. (for now!).

@Rune Eisahn , I'll enjoy being involved! You know from your Malora days I have an army of NPCs! We can plot.

@Draugän Nuruhuinë , you can have the Othon rank of Mirkwood! It's one step above trainee since your character is very young but a skilled huntsman from a dangerous forest. Impulsive is good, he'll get along well with my slightly older young Elves Calselda and her sister Aewrusca, Aigronding's children. You can RP at The Colony mission like I described above once you read over the posts. If it helps you for me to drop those posts links of The Colony here, I can! Please title your post "The Colony: Chapter 4 - The Descent."

Excellent, excellent! I can't wait to RP with you @Prometherion , @Tharmáras , and @Fuin Elda. The D R A M A and general interactions will be marvelous. You could help become the foundation of Rune's knowledge of elf-lore. That or just be effortlessly awesome. Either works. I've been working on a draft of the initial RP post for this first little tale in the Lone Lands, which I hope to have done and posted within the next day or two.

Yes, yes, @Tharmáras. I can't say that I remember all of your NPC's (I definitely remember the wolf-hounds, though), but I do recall they are numerous! Mhm, yes, plot - Rune's life at this point is kind of a tabula rasa, as it's something that's being shaped and molded by the muck and beauty of the world. Who knows what could come next in these new chapters of life?

My wolfhounds are quite memorable, I have to boast, @Rune Eisahn , especially Aigronding's Nimlos the Snow White. Depending on how your tale starts I can see if I can bring Aig and Nimlos out of Rivendell. He stays too much in Imladris and needs to get out more  which is why he's at the Bree Market and visiting Lindon presently.

Getting back to activity soon, folks. Long work shifts, five a week have been keeping me so busy but I'm starting to have four again at least for the next couple of weeks. Posts for AoA, Ost-Halatir, Cirdan's Court, Last Homely House, and Arpies will be up next shortly. Have to finish a post in Gondor first, hoping to do that by tonight since I have the day off.

@Rune Eisahn most of my elves (and other characters) are walking disasters so I'm not sure what you mean by "effortlessly awesome" :lol but I will try my best. I look forward to reading your post though, that way I know exactly which walking disaster to bring to the party

Uh... hello everyone. I just wanted to apologize and/or explain the lack of posting on my part lately. I wrestled with a bad case of ye olde writer's block for weeks, and after that, I just kinda lost interest in the Plaza for a while.

I just wanted to reassure my fellow Eriador roleplayers, particularly those who have been waiting for my posts (@Tharmáras, @Fuin Elda, @Prometherion, @Nessa Saelind), that I am writing and you will see my updates, threads, and replies soon. I promise. Sending you all virtual hugs from my corner of the globe. Image

It's okay, @Annúnfalas 😘, many of us struggle with writer's block or lack of interest occasionally. Sometimes the words to convey our thoughts aren't there or our minds and hearts are centered on other matters not related to the Plaza. My own issue is just energy and stuck at my laborious demanding job for most of the day during the week.

When time isn't an issue, I'm fighting through exhaustion to write but usually have enough mental strength for one post or two on that day off unless its something I desperately want to make wonderful for you, Cassie, Moriel, Fuin, Issy and more, them it takes me more days off to complete what I need to. I always want to give the best of me but you know that 😘 . Don't worry, miel, I have faith in you. My next posts for you will be adult Amrod, Círdan's Court, Ost-Halatir, and Last Homely House. Sending long hugs 🤗💓💝.

@Annúnfalas as the official president, member and cheerleader  of the Don't Worry, It's OK Team I'm here to tell you to take your time and not stress about anything. :grouphug: The Plaza and its fine folk will be here whenever you have time, energy, desire, will, creativity etc. to come back and RP. :smooch: RL can be chaotic at times and we don't always have motivation or time to dedicate to the things we like. However, one of the best things about being an adult on NuPlaza is knowing that you're not stuck alone in this boat. :winkkiss: So no need to feel bad that you couldn't write or RP, we're here and we're not going anywhere. So whenever you join us you will be more than welcome :smooch: Sending big hugs, positivity, glitter and Eurovision energy your way! OK, you might not need the last one  but it can't hurt

@Annúnfalas to echo everyone else, don't worry about taking time, it's all good. Writer's Block is a baggins and a half, I think that's something to which we can all relate. And sometimes, creativity and energy is better spent in other places for a while, I don't fault you one bit for taking steps back to focus and deal. Plaza fam has your back whenever you're ready to come back on your terms (once you've killed your writer's block, stuffed the corpse, and mounted the head on your wall). And naturally, should you ever want to talk about this, that, or the other thing I'm always available (I promise I don't actually bite). Take your time to ease back and get comfortable again, whether it's six days or six months, I'll be ready to go when you are

Edit: Just deleted the content of this post since I just saw the post by @Annúnfalas above. Defintely take your time, I will just have Legolas cause trouble in Rivendell differently until then :headbang:

@Tharmáras two things though: Concerning the last homely house, do you want to make Counsellor Erestor spot Thranduil's son and set him up with a room? If yes, it'd mean you'd have to post next, otherwise I could also have Legolas approach Erestor.
And 2nd thing, we can still let Aragorn meet Legolas if you want though :) if you'd be down for it and if you've got an idea about when/where/how, just let me know :winkkiss:

Wow, I didn't see this post til now, sorry about that!

You could have @Legolas approach Erestor, yes. That would buy me some time while I post next in the Arpys and AoA and Tham-en-Gaearon.

I would love it if you could have Legolas meet Aragorn still. If you could have Legolas see him suddenly on the House's terraces above the Bruinen River, that would be good. He could not know he is at first but Legolas notices he is wearing elvish raiment of silver & white and strikes up a conversation. I'll need some time with Annúnfalas who is Arwen in the thread but for the present I'll have Elrond interacting with her while you and I write together. Sounds good? When I get caught up with the Imladris RPs on my list, you and I can start having adventures with Aragorn and Legolas in some of the Free RPs if you like!

*Please excuse this idiot (me and my brain) and attempts of humour before coffee.
