PAY ATTENTION TO M- *cough* I mean, I noticed there wasn't any posts about this year's Tolkientober art prompts, so I'm starting one. A bit late on the ball, but whatever. Here is the list, courtesy of https://twitter.com/hobbitgay :

Day 1 - A favourite character

Mine's Maglor, especially Jenny Dolfen's version of him but I almost never draw elves (or anything that isn't Orcs) so this was good practice.

Day 2 - Self-insert

And then I died horribly.

Day 5 - A hobbit

Never drawn a hobbit before, but some time's gotta be the first. The character is from a hilarious parody fic called "Mock My innocence" by Hautuumaa.

Hi @Hoglorfen, welcome to the Cottage! Not sure if we ever interacted on the old Plaza, but it's great to have you here now.

I'm no artist, but I love these sorts of challenges and look forward to seeing what you come up with. Your self-insert is hilarious! And I've never read that fic (just found it on FFN though *g*) but I love your hobbit too, whatever he is up to. Hope to see more Feanorians and First Age stuff. There is never enough Silmarillion art in the world.

*pays attention*

Nice art, and almost commitment to the schedule. I take so long fiddling with art it never gets posted. I'd never heard of Tolkientober either, but I like the idea of it.

Can certainly see the Dolfen influence in your Maglor. Nice start. 👍

I like these a lot, especially the SI one! Tolkientober is also new to me, but that's a promising list of prompts; I look forward to seeing anything more you feel like sharing here. And now I have an unexpected elf/orc romance fanfic to check out.

@Yávië Thank you! It's well worth a read :D

@Lirimaer Hah, i doubt I'll be able to keep up the whole way through. I don't have the patience for details, so most of it tends to be rather sketchy (in many ways lol).

@Eldy Dunami Yes, it's the first time I've even considered doing anything like it but the prompts were too good to pass up :D

Day 6 - Royalty

Well, he's called the Witch-King, so...

Day 7 - A character in our world

Okay, two characters. Any excuse to draw an Orc (as if I'd need one). Plot twist; they won.

LOL OMG is the warg in a dog show? (first guess would be a working class dog since it's in with poodles) absolutely love the expression on the one womans face.

I also love the rest of them line work on the witchking one is solid

@CHAOS Yup XD wargs deserve praise and pretty ribbons too! At first I considered making it an agility competition where the warg just wrecks the place, but this was easier :P

LOL such a handsome, well-behaved warg. If may advertise a little bit... I don't suppose you want to trot him over to this dog show? That's almost exactly the sort of scene we're hoping to create.

On the Witch King--I love that the tail and mane are ragged like the cloak. And the elaborate bridle.

What a beautiful and glorious image of the Witch-king! I always enjoy line-art. It lends itself well to a robed figure as all the drapes can be suggested by the lines; and it gives you more detail than might be easily conveyed if it were to be coloured in given how monochrome the Nazgûl are.

Also, love Warg vs Poodle
