Hello. I can't believe the site is back up! I used to come here every day to see what's up. I used to be Ghitzo son of Paul, then I was Ar-Aimapairet for a while. But I spent all my points and couldn't name myself Ghitzo again.

I'm really so happy this site is up and running again!

Greetings everyone... I was a member of the old LOTRPLAZA for only a brief time maybe 5-6 years ago, but I read a lot of posts in that short span.
I was stunned to find it shut down when I returned to it (or attempted to return).
Today...TODAY!... I stumbled on the Reddit post that said the Plaza was up and running again, so I hurried right over (nearly dropped my pipe and spilled my tea) to join again.

Welcome back Deimos! We’re happy you found us. I found the Plaza the exact same way so apparently that particular Reddit post has been super effective.

Maybe not the right place to ask this, but does the Forum need donations?
I belong to a half dozen or so forums (or 'fora' to the Latin purists) ---woodworking, Steampunk, metalworking etc.--and I send a few dollars to each one every month help offset the operating costs.
So can the plaza use a few shekels every now and then?

Hi everyone, I joined several days ago but have only just noticed this thread ...
I've not been a member of the FB group, but hope you won't hold that against me ...
I originally found the Plaza a few years ago. I think I joined but can't remember my user name and didn't get around to posting because I was so busy IRL. But I'm thrilled to see it up and running again, especially as I'm now working from home and am hoping to have more time to browse, post and get involved.
Greetings and many thanks to Narv for putting this amazing place together. I think I recognise some of the names here ...
I was just wondering what happened to the Plaza's original creator? Anyone know?

You mean Eru? He left the Plaza to the admins a few years after creating it, it was created in 2002 (well very late dec 2001) Dont think anyone is still talking to him, we have tried to track him down.

Yes, I think Eru was the name of the original creator (of the Plaza, that is). I didn't realise that he'd left the place to the admins, but that's not surprising as I didn't know anything about him anyway. Thanks for the discord link, I'll check it out ...
