Yes we have 2 new features courtesy of @Tarawen - one is the padlocks and the other is a little dropdown for post options instead of having them all squeezed into the bar. We're hoping this helps for smaller-screen users (aka phone ppl) - feedback is encouraged!

Especially let us know if the dropdown doesn't work at all for you (i.e. if you click the little gear thingy and no menu pops up) -- we weren't able to test this on every browser/OS combo so it's possible there's some wonky stuff going on that we need to sort out.

Just back to the topic of smileys (or not so smileys in this case), I noticed that a couple of our old angry ones haven't been added. Perhaps this was deliberate, because why do we need to be angry? But these are the ones I'm talking about:

I would like to propose an idea. While we have the ATRs back (and looking wonderful) I was wondering if we could maybe open up a voting system (likely through email) where the members of the Plaza could vote on a special member to get one? Kind of like the old Minion of the Month but on a plaza wide scale?

@Frostbite Are you suggesting that, in addition to the ATR/SCRs the admins are starting to give out every month(?), there could be a people's choice award?

If so, could we allow that person to choose from all the previous ATR/SCR icons rather than only their kingdoms? (Which I think is what happened this month, iirc.)

Regarding the SCRs/ATRs, I remember that Rohan used to have an awesome thread called "Who would you be?" which listed all the available icons for SCRs (including some from other kingdoms too). People would be encouraged to post there with a few preferences over icons in the lucky event that they were going to receive one. So when it came time for the Rohan rulers to pick SCR winners, we’d pick people first, then check against their wish list and give them one of those they liked, thus guaranteeing they got a face they wanted to RP but without giving the game away.

Is it possible we could do that on here too? I imagine it would be more fun waking up and going to post and then suddenly seeing the icon next to your name and being all "Whaaaaaa...?!" rand maybe even half the plaza already knowing before you and sending your notifications shooting through the roof, rather than getting a PM from an admin saying 'which face do you want?' which is somewhat less dramatic.

I don't know when Peeg stepped down, currently. Beebs stepped down in 2009 but I don't know if that was before or after Peeg. On the other hand, I was in Vali at that time, and while I don't remember Peeg not being there, I don't remember him being there either.

Is there anything in the pipeline to pin the top post of each thread to all subsequent pages of that thread? It used to be really handy back in the day, although I appreciate that it might cause more people (especially mobile users) a lot more scrolling these days.

@Li. - We have not forgotten about your request. Unfortunately, there is no good way currently with phpBB to get the OP to stick on pages after the first one, and to have that functionality would mean investing a lot of time that we don't have right now into creating that extension from scratch. We will of course keep an eye out in case something does pop up that is workable for the site in future!

That sounds like something niche / cool / "dumb" enough to spawn a whole hobby and subculture of its own... Call it "re-top-[post]ing" or something, with new slang being invented by the members... People competing with each other to see how many can repost the top post on successive pages... "Oh man you see @Allafyrefleorhtlig over there? She's the fastest re-topper on the whole board, everyone wants to be like her!" Badges or symbols in signatures that communicate how many retops you've successfully pulled off...
