Hoom hom hello there old friends...surprising how many names I still recognize!

I was "masterofjesters" on the old plaza but everyone knew me as "Mojo" so here on the new plaza I'm just rolling with the shortened version of my name.

As for my story, I can't quite claim that I was an "original" plaza member but I was part of the "second wave" that joined in January 2003, shortly after the Two Towers came out. I always was, and always will be, an Ent of Fangorn (I guess it works out that I'm among the elder group of Plaza-ites) I was involved heavily with Debate (and served as Debate Game Master for a time) and was also a ruler of Fangorn for a time (circa 2004-2005) but didn't have the time to continue once college work got busy. Outside of organizing Debates, I think my proudest memory was organizing the Fangorn Olympics, where I got the original Eru to come back and post to "light the flame" of the torch. (I'm not sure of this, but that may have been the last Olympics ever done on the Plaza). I didn't RP much but dabbled with drill, squizzel races, song parodies, riddles, and the lore forums.

I went "treeish" for a time while I finished college then got roused to do some more debating (circa 2008-09). Fangorn was mostly old and tree-ish by that point, being relegated as a sub-forum of the Western Mountains. Somewhere in there I also coordinated a final Fangorn Lithedays festival where we got the old Forest hopping one last time.

I knew a lot of folks through the ol' Hotel California chat room as well.

In my real life, I've gotten married and have a few kids. I'm fairly busy with real life stuff these days, but I keep an eye on the Plaza facebook group. It's good to see so many familiar faces!

Saw Windy mention this in another thread but it's so true "we were all kids when we joined the plaza and now we have kids of our own."

I was like 16 or 17 when I joined the Plaza and now I'm 34 with 4 kids of my own (the oldest is 9!)

I was 14 when I joined and am now 25. Two degrees and a teaching credential later, this is still one of my favourite online communities.

Good to see you here, mojo!

I was 12 when I joined, 14 when I became really active, 17 when I drifted away, 21 when I became active again for a bit, and now I'm 25. But through all that I kept visiting and occasionally posting on the Plaza longer than any other website, and it's wonderful to be able to do do again. There aren't many things about my life that have persisted over that same span of time.

My relationship with the Plaza is exceeded only by my relationship with my family members...and two philodendrons from a 6th grade science project that are still alive :smiley9:

Hello everyone! SidraLockel Eltoran here! I want to say I joined the plaza in 2005 or 2006...it’s been so long though that I don’t remember the exact date. I spent most of my time in Lorien, and in the poetry and art threads.

Amadhrill here, Ama for short. Many thought Ama was a boy, she's not :smiley9: I think I spent nearly all my time in Rohan, mainly in the cavalry and the pub. According to the "archives" I joined in December 2003 when I was 18, I can't remember when I left, RL took over with studies, then work, family... the usual stuff. I was a pubmistress with the Ældsel and hælend in the cavalry, and now that I am looking through some of the posts, I think I was quite bossy, and I don't really believe I have improved so much about it either :smiley16: . It is so fun to see all the old faces! Ohh! I feel like I am right back to those days!

Look at all of these familiar names!!! I am practically giddy! I first joined in April 2002 at the ripe old age of 14. Had a few different bouts of activity/inactivity as life happened over the years, and I have deeply regretted that since I learned that the plaza had crashed.

Fun story, role-playing in Rohan all those years made me want to learn Old English, and, well...now I'm two years out from a PhD, writing a dissertation on Old English poetry. And every year (well, except this year) I go to the International Congress on Medieval Studies in Kalamazoo and attend all the Tolkien panels. Regardless of how much or how little I end up posting here or how long it stays up, the plaza and all of you have still made an enormous impact on the course of my life to date--so, thanks, and many *huggleglomps* to all! :smiley11:

Hi! Lysistarielle here. I kept my old name haha. I must've been around 14 when I joined. Got suspended for creating too many accounts (I wanted to change my username and didn't want to pay the, what was it, 10 points?). Got suspended again I think for saying something stupid. Oh my God I was so young then. I'm 31 now, so yeah, geez that was half a lifetime ago. I've made some lifelong friends through the plaza, so while I don't see myself posting much, I had to sign up again, for nostalgia's sake.

Hey all, I'm not sure who will remember me...if anyone. I had a bit of a fragmented Plaza life. I joined way back in 2002 because the forum was attached to the knowledge halls quiz, which I loved. I was 11-12 years old back then, so suffice to say that I've matured considerably (kinda).

I was a new soul for a while, then I was an Ent for a looooong time. Then I stepped up and became a poetry maia, which is really weird because I'm not really a poet or an artist. Then I became an admin and wore the guise of Orome. Then I was a new soul again.

When I was in Fangorn I ran the healing grove, which was a kind of Ent hospital. I tried my hand at lore related things from time to time, but I never had the patience for them. I was also in the Fangorn Tree Garth for a while. As an admin I'm not entirely sure what I did, except for causing some mischief with good egg and bad egg icons.

Anyway, it's good to be back!

I finally got around to reading this now that I am home and slightly less brain dead from driving all night.
So many names and memories! I joined the plaza back in November 2002 after lurking for a few months. I was studying abroad in Wales while working on my history degree, and during one of my homesick moments I looked up Tolkien info and found the knowledge quiz, and then read EVERYTHING and decided on a character before joining. I was so hesitant with my story writing (unlike my brave young friends) that I found out much later that everyone assumed I was extremely young, rather than a frustrated perfectionist trying to write creatively for what seemed the first time.
This place and relationships both through storytelling and in person have had a huge impact on my life. Many of my dearest friends were met through the plaza, and I learned a lot about writing, communication of all sorts, and relationships. It is great to see all your names on my screen again!

MSN messenger! Good times...

I used MSN exclusively for Plaza talk and AIM for my RL friends and often had both open at once.

Hello ^^ Lilath Nenharma here. Joined the original plaza back in 2003/2004. Nearly 17 years ago! Whew, time flies quickly. Saw the Facebook post from Narv and I had to re-join for however long this site is up. Lilath was a trouble-maker, always into mischief. I apologize in advance, she tends to write herself. XD

Use to muck around In lorien, on the lawns, sometimes in Mordor and a few other places if they peeked my interest. Can't wait to rp with you guys! Once again, apologizes, been a few years so could be rusty.

HI all, I remember so many names from this thread.
I joined around 2004 I think, I was 23 at that time. I started as a rivvy elf but spent most of my Plaza-career as a KD dwarf. Used to be a sort of a general in Anghak, KD army, led two KD clans at some point (Mojak Ashayeoks and Mojaks), menaced too serious RPers with foo, crochetted outfits and rolling pins. Plaza inspired me to dabble in digital art and design (I was a Maia of art forums as well around 2005 I think (Gleowyne)) which actually proved to be very useful in my career. I am 39 now, married for 11 years, no kids. I have so many happy memories of this place. Big thanks to Narv for setting this up!

Hello everyone, found my way here from the facebook group, nice to see so many familiar faces.
I originally joined in April 2002 and spent most of my time in the poetry part of the plaza for a while but eventually I joined Rohan and started learning how to RP with help of Bereth who was Eomer at the time (if memory serves).
At that time of just starting to learn rping i also spent a lot of time in oome being up to no good with a group of fellow scandinavians.
I changed names and kingdoms a lot over the years but always been a rohirrim at heart even though my main characters Olly and Rior have always been elves (in my defense, my first mc in Rohan Olwyn was fully human). :smiley9:
Even though I was away from plaza for some years, only doing some lurking and posting here and there at times I've missed it and it's good to have it back in whatever way possible.
