When Cayleigh Elise posted on Youtube, I used to listen to her describe the disappearances/murders/obscure true crimes and enjoyed hearing it.

I've tried a few times to get into true crime podcasts but only a few of them have actually intrigued me enough to listen past the first episode. True Crime Finland is my favorite thus far.

And I agree, we have lots of food in Mordor, you just have to close your eyes when you eat it sometimes

I’m a true fan of real crime. I mean I’m a real fan of true crime. Whichever. I’ve read a lot of true crime books and seen a lot of true crime tv shows.

You are braver and tougher than me! 100% truth - I am too sensitive and have too much anxiety and an overactive imagination to be able to watch/read true crime. I watched the Zodiac movie years ago and it still haunts me. I mean, they still never caught the guy...he could still be out there...*shudders*

@Lailyn I have clinical anxiety as well and somehow, when delivered in the right context, I find the stories intriguing and often educational.

True crime is fascinating to me as it is. I especially enjoy watching body language analysis of the perps as they are questioned or testify. There was a series about that Peterson guy who was accused of murdering his wife on the stairs. Body Language Ghost did a analysis of the series that I really enjoyed. She also did one video on the BTK killer.

I watch and read probably more than I realise! The Staircase is the series about the Peterson case, I think it’s still on Netflix. It’s very interesting. Making a Murderer was also good.

I like more of the historical true crime to read about. Kate Summerscale has written some excellent books that I’ve enjoyed, they’re worth a try.

@Tari - I'm glad you are able to enjoy them if that's the right word! Its true, I do find them very interesting from a psychological aspect. But I'll stick to my cozy mysteries and leave you all to it.

Tari, there are so very, very many that it’s really difficult to point out favorites. However, even though this is supposed to be about true crime, one of my all-time favorite shows was Season 1 of the HBO series True Detective.

@Dis I saw the one about the staircase. It was good.
@Elarith Making a Murderer is also really good! I also enjoy historical true crime as well. There are some really intriguing stories.
@Pallador I never got on board with True Detective when it was out. I tried it and it didn't stick, maybe I need to try it again!

Another film which again I must admit is not true crime but is one of the most eerie movies I believe I’ve ever seen is Frailty. It’s from 2001 and is classified as a psychological horror film. Directed by the late Bill Paxton and stars Bill Paxton, Matthew McConaughey and and the great Powers Boothe. It is well worth your time I assure you.

@Tari they're my favorite podcast! Especially around episodes 30s- mid100s. Any other true crime podcast recs? I listen to Jensen and Holes, but it's not my favorite.

@Gwai Jensen and Holes is not my favorite, but if you like the chattiness of MFM check out And That's Why We Drink. You must have the "and" in the title when searching. It's two awesome folx and one of them does a paranormal story and one does true crime in every weekly episode. It's very similar to MFM's vibe. Do you have a favorite MFM episode? Ed Edwards was by far one of my favorites!
