OKAY so I have decided to start working on a sketchbook full of different tattoo designs. I doubt that the art in this thread will be nothing but those pieces but they will make up a good number of them.
The current pieces I have are all done in pencil crayon though I do plan on having some ink and pencil crayon ones as well. And perhaps the odd finished tattoo as well. I DO offer tattoo designs for anyone wanting specifics (the current images I have are all phone based) so if anyone does want to purchase any of these to get tattooed elsewhere you are welcome to purchase them. These have watermarks on them for that exact reason - most proffessionals when they see a shop watermark won't do it without getting a hold of that shop if they can.
SO the two that I have to share atm are my throw back pieces meant for thighs or upper arms is where these are meant to be places... nice gently curved areas that aren't super big.
The first is a throw back to a cartoon that was a saturday morning staple in Canada especially on the prairies where we didn't have YTV... we just had CBC and CTV...
The Raccoons

This next one was and still is one of my favourite movies done by R/B as a child... I still have my VHS copy of it and my goal is to get a copy of it on DVD or digitally to help support Beagle (the author)

Love the hair on that unicorn! So flowy and smooth colour blending.
Have to admit I’ve never seen the last unicorn but had no idea it featured a Bullrog...

Fuin, you are so talented! These are beautiful but I especially love the Last Unicorn one. The colors are so vibrant. I could almost cry looking at this because that movie tears my heart out, stomps on it and makes me sob every time (yes as both a child and an adult - I am not ashamed) but I still love it so much.

@Sil Yes there is a Bullrog. @Elenhir probably thinks this is not the worst representation of a Balrog either lol
@Lailyn Uggg yes I've been wanting to do a LU tattoo design for forever because this was my favourite movie as a kid, I STILL have the VHS. I want to get a DVD/Digital copy of it.. I also want to get the book and read it this is the first that I've not read the book first.
@Troygan Thanks so much!

......................omfg where has this raccoon show been all my life?? I see a Youtube binge in my near future.
Your art is amazing as always Fuin! I didn't discover The Last Unicorn until...college? And still haven't seen the movie, but the book absolutely wrecked me. I still don't understand how I missed the boat on the movie as a kid!

@Elenhir it's because of the lack of wings isn't it? Lol
@Drifa Thanks though that one is Ceril Sneer Cedric is the younger Sneer that is nice and friends with the raccoons not the bad guy looming in the back lol
@MEOW On Canadian Television? Lol yes the movie was one of those things I don't even know how I found it because legitimately I should NEVER have found out about it with where I lived anyways time for a new piece of art for your enjoyment! This one is a piece of art going up on the wall because MORE tattoo art! I legit bought Silver ink just for this piece (I own gold ink already and have one with gold ink) Sad that there is no such thing as metallic ink for tattoos or these would be absolutely awesome.

@Ta'leus Shieldsong Thanks!
@Afird Splitax Honestly I think that would be very cool as it's an extinct animal so would also probably be pretty cool to have.
Now I've managed to finish yet another piece in the sketchbook itself. I was debating on adding the lettering but decided against it on the banner as honestly what I think it should say and what someone wants it to say may be different. Anyways this one I've titled what I want to put on the banner because 'You are my sunshine' would normally be the standard for a piece like this.

So time for another piece of art - I've been trying to work on a horse design since the shop I'm opening is in a town that has the second largest Rodeo in the Province and has hosted things like the National Bull Riding Championships pre covid so horses likely going to be a staple. Suggestions for a title for this one?

Got it! I remember watching Monty Python's Flying Circus on CBC in the 70's. It was always funny. I haven't watched Monty Python and The Holy Grail in years. I do remember having a Halloween gif on my computer that repeated "bring out your dead"..
Great Longhorn scull! What is the jewel suppose to represent?
My husband just explained to me what a sleeve means in tattoo speak.

@Afird Splitax yes Bring out your dead is going to be in sleeve as well - as is the 'GET ON WITH IT' line and God in his clouds. As for the skull and jewel ended up as a bit of a happy accident I'm thinking it's going to be part of a Zodiac run in that sketchbook - So that would be a May Taurus.... I'll probably do a different version for April Taurus. etc.
Anyways I made this because it has been feeling weird to have a horse on my website when my shop name is Rising Phoenix Body Art so We came up with this and finally finished it tonight

Fuin, wow, I am always amazed by your artistic skill and creativity. I think the phoenix is my favorite so far though its really hard to pick, I just can't not love a majestic magical bird! Because I know nothing about art and I apologize for that I'm willing to be the idiot in the room, was it created digitally or drawn by hand (or a mix?)? The horse is also incredible. I love the color of the colors and how they pop against the dark horse.

@Lailyn I'm glad you like the phoenix! As for your question hardly something that would make you the idiot in the room especially as I do both digital and traditional art. These however are all traditionally done including the one in this post. I tend to go between pencil, pencil crayon/coloured pencils, markers, and ink (the gems on the short nosed bear for example are done in a metallic silver ink which sadly doesn't show nearly as well digitally.)
Right now I still haven't gotten my printer/scanner combo hooked up at either my shop OR home so I've been taking photos with my phone and digitally cleaning them up (it's why you can see black spots and why some of them are a bit grayer looking than others - Some I've literally just done minor tweaks on my phone and put the shop name over and uploaded that way. This one I'm posting today has had a full Photoshop gambit (if you saw it in the discord it was quite discoloured for some reason by the flash)and figured it would be good to put the water mark on it here as this IS a design that is going on someone Thursday coming up.
Shoulder Moths
These particular designs are going to be going one on the upper chest/shoulder region where one would normally find traditional sparrows. And are going to cost the client about $500 total (they are currently 6x6 roughly design wise but will be shrunk down to about 4x4 or 3x3 inches.

Thank you for explaining! Rising Phoenix and Growth both look so impeccably clean to me I thought they might be digital whereas the others seem more obviously hand drawn to my very uneducated eye. The moths are equally gorgeous and I love the texture. Since I also know nothing about tattoos, approximately how long does it take to ink someone with something like that?

Ahhh yeah those (as well as the moths though I didn't get rid of the corner shadows as well as I thought I had on here now that I've got the screen angled sharper on my laptop) are done with technical markers making them very crisp in terms of the black lines (the grey is a silver ink paint, and the red is a copic marker)
That said time for something a bit different than my normal sketchbook stuff time for an actual tattoo
This was a cover up I did today for my Auntie, she's been wanting to cover up this mistake as she called it for a while and had showed me a picture of a 'rainbow eagle' and said she wanted a turtle in that style... So I drew it. Well today in my shop she saw my water colour flash and asked if I could turn the turtle into a watercolour piece that splashed outside the lines and I said yes. So this is the before and after of her cover up. I will tell you that the PROCESS of doing this tattoo mostly had her looking at me like I was nuts because I didn't draw out the changes I just went Ohhh okay and did it....

So time for another piece of art - I finished this one last night and it's been accepted by it's commissioner
@Laintaen who is going to be hopefully finding someone to tattoo near her as I'm a bit far! She gave me a rough idea and I turned it into this with pencil crayons and a lot of back and forth between us on discord.

Great pieces Fuin! I like the turtle. Nice cover-up.
What does Laintaen's piece depict, if I may ask? Very interesting the jewels, fruit, flowers and sword.

@Afird Splitax and @Marceline It is very much the ages of Middle Earth as it were.
We have a part of Narsil, the Ring Script (which cover the Second Age and the Third Age) as well as the Flower and the Fruit from the trees So pre ages and the Silmarils (it was decided to go with white, red and blue to depict that they are in the water, the earth and the sky) for the First Age.
Honestly I had a few people watching me draw this and have begged me to take the flower and put it on them so am going to have to come up with a few varients of it I think @Nessa Saelind
