Lord of the Rings Fanatics Plaza

I've never been the greatest artist and get easily frustrated when I can't get the pencil to do what I see in my head. That being said, over the years various threads and people on the Plaza have inspired me to have a go, and some of the results have been acceptable to me. I, somehow despite changing computers twice since then, still have scans of some of these pieces, although the originals are long lost, and thought I'd share them here.
Some of them I know are from the thread in the old Art forum where you could request a picture of your character, so these may be characters of yours. If that is the case feel free to use them with credit if you like.

This is a cute piece of art! I like the plants and mushrooms at his feet, they fit so well. The hair on the feet is fun too!

Yes, no denying his hobbit credentials!

It was done with a soft (3B or 4B) pencil I believe, hence the smudginess. All my art lessons started with charcoal and pastels so I am most comfortable using softer media.

I found another one from the sketchbook of characters, titled Ainion Alarion. Not sure if they are back on the new Plaza.

I am sure I remember seeing that Ainion Alarion piece before, Fairy! The elf has a very distinctive look with a unique face, and I like the stance. I think that's why I remember it.

I really enjoy the hobbit legs. Which seems like an odd statement, but honestly, just the bottom half of a hobbit sitting on a fence captures a very quintessential hobbit feeling. I also particularly like the slanted shading style-- it gives it an earthy / whimsical feel. It seems wild that just the way something is shading can do this, but it's comforting to look at.

Thanks for the lovely comments guys, it makes me more confident to keep posting, especially when I know I can never compare to some people here who actually do this stuff professionally. But if someone else sees it and likes it even a little bit, it is worth posting.
