IK Poetry, is it?

Nothing super fancy right now, I'm just curious to see where people's thoughts are on this. I know the Plaza just got restarted and the urge to get absolutely everything restarted might be a foolish notion but some of my favorite memories where involved in the Poetry Leagues. Should we restart them?
Other valid questions should be who might be in charge, how would we schedule things, etc, etc

So... what are you thoughts people?

I would love this!!! I don't remember much about the structure and scheduling but participating in these was always so exciting, and the Plaza is such a lovely safe place to take creative risks. I'd definitely be in, and could help out however you need me to :smiley24:

I am a fan of all IK competitions, and one like poetry may be easier to start first rather than.....well....my bailiwick

@Thalionwen I can't remember the structure to save my life either, we'll either need someone with great recall or rebuild it from the ground up
@Mojo It's the one that doesn't require a massive ton of coordination between eighty billion people and d6s so I thought it was a good place to start

Yep! And I'm not trying to put myself in charge or anything, but just offering a quick suggestion: the last time we successfully did Debate, we had a sign-up period then randomly picked teams based on the sign ups for that round then repeated the process for the next round so people only had to do the ojes they signed up for. Some debates had no participants from a given kingdom and some had a handful, but it worked.

I would vote for this as well! Maybe not sonnets starting out. But limericks could be a good starter.

There once was a man from Ithilien

Someone come up with the next line, I've been up since 2am and my brain is a little fried

He pulled out a sword
and announced he was bored
And went on a rampage of killien.

@Nessila That's exactly what I was hoping for. You get a rotten apple!

Excellent! I think we have enough people interested in a preliminary test contest now. Since everything and everyone is so wild and up in the air and kingdoms are wonky, the first one should probably be a free for all. I'll judge too, since this whole nutbag idea was mine to start with, so everyone else can have some fun. Give me until Friday to come up with a theme and form. Sound good? Not too overly simple I hope.

@Moriel Same! It’s been awhile since I’ve written much poetry, but it’ll be good to get the juices flowing again. I know I was involved in some forms of poetry completions or other on the Old Plaza.

Looking forward to see what you come up with @Frost

I love poetry and IK events. And of course all things dark and sinister. Bring it on! :smiley8:
