IK Racing Season 1 Race 6

The ringing of many bells and the singing of many songs foretold of some sort of event in the Valley of Imladris. A little bit of searching soon found a fantastic course going up and down the valley and over riverlets and streams and through trees, with balconies and seating at almost every turn of the course, and with the seating food and drink to welcome back the racers to the second half of the Interkingdom Racing season.
There were many great rows of crates, each row a different size, and flagged with different colours, with the names of the kingdom over them. There was quite a ruckus in a few of them as some of the animals knew it was time to race and they were quite excited, others were lazy lumps and fast asleep. All of the crates held animals that any person might use to race for that particular kingdom should they not have their own.
Imladris crates hold hedgehogs and are posted under the colour #408080 (Teal)
Lothlorien crates hold foxes and are posted under the colour #00BFFF (Light Blue)
Khazad Dum crates hold badgers and are posted under the colour #708090 (Grey)
Gondor crates hold skunks and are posted under the colour BLACK (No colour code required)
Rohan crates hold raccoons and are posted under the colour #00BF00 (Light Green)
Shire crates hold coneys and are posted under the colour #800080 (Purple)
Fangorn crates hold squirrels and are posted under the colour #008000 (Green)
Isengard crates hold rats and are posted under the colour #0040FF (Royal Blue)
Mordor crates hold snakes and are posted under the colour #800000 (Dark Red)
No cheerful voice here, instead there is a menacing sort of screech, possibly a nazgul announcing the race or they might be trying to find out when the food vendors for the race will be opening.
"We invite all racers to chose whichever kingdom they would like to participate as, but please only participate for ONE kingdom, all of our major announcements for the race will be made over this channel. (#FF0000 - BRIGHT RED)

Rules of the Race
Any kingdom member may race for any other kingdom.
You may not use multiple racers or represent multiple kingdoms per race
All posts must have at least 100 characters of RP accompany every post
Please post in racers kingdom colour to make my life easy
Please make your rolls known at the bottom of your post in bold Examples:
1 A roll or
2 B rolls and 1 A roll
You may take multiple rolls if you so wish to a maximum of 15.
There are 15 turns per race.
Please make your last rolls by JULY 30th.
GM updates will happen DAILY if there is racer activity
A Rolls:
1,3,5 - Move forward those amounts
2,4,6 - Move BACKWARDS half those amounts
B Rolls
A spread of -5 to +10 depending on the roll. These WILL come with RP requirements, some are lightly lore based but there are no wrong answers as long as you RP them fully!

Making sure Dragon's tutu was on straight, Drifa walked her racer out to the starting line. The old dwarf seemed a little older, a few more white hairs on her head and in her beard, but she still looked spry and there was a bounce in her step. She had been away for some time, trying to discover the deeper meaning of life. Still not sure if she had discovered it, she was content, and eager to get back to her old life.
With a good supply of earth worms on hand, she patted the badgers head and said.
"Time to race old friend!"

It was a nice warm day and it appeared that one of their previous racers was back once more to see if they could get into the Championship race, and so far it seemed like they were doing quite well over all.

Drifa and Dragon had the whole race track to themselves - with bells ringing and voices singing - and grand trees standing tall. Still, it seemed a bit lonely, and even the badger was not overly enthusiastic when the old dwarf dangled a worm in front of the creature's nose. Old Dragon sniffed at it then, dropped her head and continued down the track, not turning her head left nor right but pointing it straight ahead. She had become quite blasé about the whole situation.
Attempting to cheer her up, for this was more than just racing; it was exercise and activity to keep both of them in shape as they had celebrated birthdays and considered old folk now. Drifa composed a little poem as they moved down the winding race track through the enchanting valley.
The Prickle of Hedgehogs is slow and fickle.
The Troop of Foxes snoop and stoop
The Bouquet of Skunks their musk they must spray,
While the Gaze of Raccoons slowly appraise
The Scurry of Squirrels filled with worry
The Mischief of Rats chew for relief
The Slither of Snakes go hither and thither
While the Clan of Badger's stick to the plan;
to win a race as only Badgers can.

A small head poked out of the leaf litter with a large yawn and surveyed the field. Snuggles was at home and having a nap when he heard the pounding feet of a badger tromping past. It had wakened him and he had gone to investigate what was happening, he narrowed his eyes at the thundering badger (for badgers were large enough to a creature as small as Snuggles that they thundered as they moved) and decided that no - he would defend his home turf in a race to the finish

A small creature had joined the race. It appeared to be a ball of prickles. Drifa had never seen this racer in the previous events. Dragon seemed unconcerned and continued the race with an air of indifference. The old dwarf had no idea what was causing her racer to be so. With the other racer not far behind, she tried to urge the badger on by using worms as a lure. But nothing seemed to compel the creature to show any enthusiasm. And then, they came to a pool by the raceway. The badger headed straight for it and walked right into the water, and stood there. Drifa sat on the grass and waited patiently for Dragon to quench her thirst.
When she opened her eyes, she realized she had fallen asleep. The sun was no longer over her right shoulder. But Dragon was still standing in the water. It was closer to dinner time now, and she hoped that the creature would eat a worm or two. If not, she would have to take off the tutu and run the race herself.
Wiggling a fat juicy worm in front of the badger's face, Drifa chewed on a piece of dry venison. Out of the corner of her eye, the creature looked at the meat, then the worm. Then stared down into the water. Having witnessed the badgers inspection, Drifa decided to roll the worm in a piece of meat. She offered it to Dragon and was surprised when she quickly took it in one bite. Wrapping another worm, she rose and walked back to the race track, persuading the badger to follow. The trick was working. Maybe, the creature needed a treat, too, once in a while. One could not live on worms only; it would seem.

He was speed incarnate. Yes that was his thoughts on this matter as he ran as fast as he could to catch up to the much larger creature that was running well ahead of him. He was catching up he could tell he could smell wet badger as he watched the badger come splashing up out of a puddle chasing a dwarf ahead of him. He let out a sonorous war cry that the badger would be defeated (which really sounded like a few angry squeaks) as he ran after him.

It seems like this land was like one of those dreams that you always forget. Drifa and Dragon had been running the race, with the prickly racer still behind them, yet she could remember anything about it except that it would soon be over. Another adventure comes and gone so quickly. The good thing was, they were in the lead.
As the track rolled on over the enchanted land, they came to an opening in the trees. Music softly flowed out between the leaves that gently moved in the breeze. Dragon's ears perked up. She stopped and began to sway from side to side. Then in one quick movement, she was on her hind legs, quite a feat for such a creature then spun on one foot in a perfect pirouette. Drifa smiled in admiration as the badger then lower itself on all fours and, sniffing the air once, continued down the track.
Dragon didn't just wear the tutu for smiles and giggles.

This was not going as well as he had thought it would go. Snuggles was quite upset with this so he put his head down seeing her... well he wasn't entirely sure what she was doing. It was strange and he had more important things to worry about. LIke how he was going to get his tiny legs to carry him fast enough to preserve his Hedgehogish honor.

It appears that Snuggles the Hedgehog has managed though pure determination to win the race getting past the twirling badger.
Thanks for racing @Afird Splitax the next race is going to be taking place in Gondor.
